Proofpoint revamps global channel with new Partner Network

Wed, 18th Feb 2026

Proofpoint has launched a revamped global channel programme, the Proofpoint Partner Network, as it sharpens its focus on partners that sell and deliver services around human and data security in AI-shaped workplaces.

The new structure replaces and consolidates existing elements of Proofpoint's partner approach into a single framework. It introduces new incentives, deal protections and tiering, and expands routes to market through cloud marketplaces.

Cybersecurity vendors have been adjusting partner models as buying shifts towards subscription software, managed services and marketplace procurement. Proofpoint's update emphasises predictable renewals, partner margins and partner-built services layered on its platform.

Stan de Boisset, Senior Vice President of Global Channels at Proofpoint, said the changes respond to shifts in the security market and evolving partner needs.

"Partners play a critical role in helping reduce risk, simplify security, and drive measurable outcomes for customers," said Stan de Boisset, Senior Vice President of Global Channels, Proofpoint. "The Proofpoint Partner Network reflects how the market is evolving, built to help our partners win with stronger economics, clearer protections, and the tools they need to build successful, long-term practices around the most trusted human-centric security platform in the market. By aligning our investments to partner growth, simplifying engagement, and leading together in the agentic security era, we're delivering a program that helps our partners win today and well into the future."

Partner economics

The programme puts partner profitability and predictability at the centre. Proofpoint cited a renewal rate of more than 90% and customer relationships that often extend beyond a decade, positioning those figures as a basis for recurring revenue partners can plan around.

The Partner Network adds incentives tied to new customer acquisition and renewals, along with co-investment through demand generation funds. Proofpoint also pointed to planned investments in data security within the programme, positioning the category as an area of rising customer spend.

Deal protections are another pillar. Proofpoint said it will strengthen protections for partner-sourced and co-sell opportunities, and add incumbency protection at renewal to help maintain partner involvement across the customer lifecycle.

Proofpoint also linked the channel changes to its broader product direction, saying its platform is backed by threat intelligence derived from trillions of signals each year. It said this can help partners differentiate in a crowded market and address risks in an "agentic workspace" where people and AI interact.

Tiers and tools

The Partner Network introduces three tiers: Select, Elite and Elite+. Proofpoint said the tiers recognise investment and performance, with a defined path to higher benefits. Middle- and top-tier partners will have access to NFR licences, typically used for internal training and demonstrations.

The programme also expands procurement options through the AWS Marketplace and the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. Marketplace selling is increasingly important for vendors and partners as some customers prefer to buy through existing cloud spend commitments and simplified procurement processes.

The next phase will expand partner-delivered services, including health checks and certified deployment offerings. Proofpoint said these services will develop further during 2026, aiming to give partners more repeatable service lines tied to Proofpoint deployments.

Partner response

Optiv welcomed the changes, saying it sees the programme as something it can plan around. John Hurley, Chief Revenue Officer at Optiv, pointed to investments and protections aimed at top-tier partners.

"Proofpoint recognizes the value partners bring not only in identifying the best opportunities for our clients but turning those opportunities into data-driven success with a shared vision of mutual growth," said John Hurley, CRO, Optiv. "We're encouraged by the investments Proofpoint is making in top-tier partners across both the front end and the back end of the business, along with the stronger protections that give us confidence. Knowing our efforts are trusted and safeguarded makes this a program we can build around."

In Asia Pacific and Japan, Proofpoint said it sees partners as central to customer security strategies as work patterns change and AI use grows across business functions.

"Our partners are on the front lines of helping customers stay secure and resilient as work becomes increasingly human- and AI-driven," said Nelson Soon, Vice President of Channel Sales, Asia Pacific and Japan, Proofpoint. "The Proofpoint Partner Network is built to help our partners lead this shift. By simplifying engagement, improving profitability, and expanding opportunities to build services on our AI-driven platform, we equip partners across Asia Pacific and Japan to tackle their customers' most urgent security challenges."

Partners can enrol immediately, with additional service offerings planned as the programme develops through 2026.
