AlethianAI debuts agentic AI tool for clinic billing

Wed, 28th Jan 2026

AlethianAI has launched an AI Diagnostic & Billing Assistant for healthcare providers. The company said the product targets coding accuracy, claim denials and audit readiness.

AlethianAI described the assistant as part of an agentic AI platform for healthcare delivery. The company said the platform meets HIPAA requirements and focuses on clinical and administrative workflows.

The company positioned the product against a backdrop of tighter payer scrutiny. It said downcoding and denials continue to put pressure on clinic revenue.

Product Focus

AlethianAI said many AI tools in the market focus on post-visit summaries. It said its approach centres on real-time workflows and on documentation and billing outcomes.

The company said the assistant analyses encounter documentation. It cited physician assessments, history of present illness details, treatment plans and supporting clinical context.

AlethianAI said the assistant surfaces key billable elements. It said the product applies ICD-10 and CPT logic. It said it flags missing documentation and generates rationale for payer review and audit responses.

Clinics often face delays in billing and coding. AlethianAI pointed to incomplete notes, documentation inconsistencies, payer-specific requirements and labour-intensive claim preparation. It said these issues can create rework and risk.

The company said the assistant addresses these issues earlier in the workflow. It said the tool produces outputs intended to withstand payer scrutiny. It also said this reduces administrative burden and supports faster reimbursement.

Audit Pressure

Uddin tied the product to audit defence and revenue protection. He described audit defence as a business issue that extends beyond back-office teams.

"As audits and downcoding become more common, audit defense isn't a back-office function. It's a financial imperative," said Moghis Uddin, CEO, AlethianAI. "Our AI Diagnostic & Billing Assistant is built to bring rigor, consistency, and defensibility to documentation and coding. It helps ensure the clinical story is complete, the coding is supported, and practices can protect reimbursement with confidence."

AlethianAI did not disclose pricing, deployment details, or which electronic health record systems the assistant integrates with. The company also did not specify which clinical specialties it targets first.

Broader Platform

The assistant sits within a broader platform that AlethianAI said covers multiple steps in the care journey. The company said the platform includes live clinical documentation, physician workflow support and patient engagement.

AlethianAI also described its platform as a single system that connects digital intake, live documentation, scheduling, coding and patient engagement. The company said it is taking a phased approach to formal product announcements as it expands platform functionality.

AlethianAI is based in Bellevue, Washington. The company said it focuses on automation of clinical workflows from intake through to coding and engagement.

The company said it plans further announcements as it expands its platform functionality.
