Equinix has appointed Arquelle Shaw as President, Americas, with immediate effect.

In her new role, Shaw is responsible for the management, strategy and growth of the Equinix business in the Americas, covering the United States, Canada, and Latin America.

Shaw has more than 20 years of experience in enterprise technology, sales, and business transformation. She most recently served as Senior Vice President, Sales, Americas, at Equinix, a role she will continue to hold through the end of the third quarter to enable a smooth transition while taking up her new position.

Leadership appointment

"Arquelle is a dynamic and proven leader with a deep understanding of the customer journey and a strong track record of driving transformational growth. As President, Americas, she takes on a critical role - one that demands the ability to align global strategy with regional nuance while uniting diverse countries, cultures and teams under a shared vision. Her leadership of the Americas Sales team has continually delivered outstanding results: sharpening our go-to-market strategy, deepening customer relationships, and accelerating growth across the U.S., Latin America and Canada. With her strategic vision, customer-first mindset and commitment to excellence, I am confident Arquelle will continue to advance our legacy of service and success in our largest and fastest-growing region," said Jon Lin, Chief Business Officer, Equinix.

Equinix noted that Shaw's appointment aligns with ongoing efforts to support customers and partners in leveraging digital innovation and connectivity, especially as the technology landscape continues to develop rapidly across the Americas region.

Personal reflection

"Throughout my tenure at Equinix, I have had the privilege of witnessing the remarkable achievements of the Americas region. It is an honor to step into this role and help lead the next chapter of growth in such a dynamic and strategically vital market. With the strength of our exceptional team, we are committed to advancing our customers' digital transformation journeys, accelerating innovation and unlocking boundless possibilities across the region. Together, we are shaping the digital future with greater ambition than ever before," said Arquelle Shaw, President, Americas, Equinix.

Shaw joined Equinix in 2019, after holding senior positions at companies including Accenture, American Express, and AT&T. According to Equinix, she has played a key part in scaling businesses to drive profitable growth and to exceed financial expectations. Her background also includes a commitment to diversity, equity and social causes, as well as service as a board member of the Equinix Foundation.

Regional growth and continuity

During her six years as Senior Vice President, Sales, Americas, Shaw led teams that sharpened Equinix's go-to-market approach and deepened its engagement with customers. The company indicated that she will continue to oversee these activities for the transition period to ensure ongoing leadership as she takes on her new responsibility as President, Americas.

Shaw's appointment comes at a time when Equinix is focusing on growth opportunities and addressing evolving customer demands for digital infrastructure across the Americas. The company emphasised the importance of aligning global strategy with the specific requirements found in countries across the region.

Before joining Equinix, Shaw held senior roles at multiple firms, providing her with a broad perspective on technology and business transformation. This experience is regarded as valuable as Equinix aims to consolidate its position in the Americas market.

Shaw continues to serve on the board of the Equinix Foundation, reflecting her ongoing dedication to broader social and equity initiatives along with her corporate responsibilities.
