Azul & OpenValue expand Java migration guarantees to North America
Azul and OpenValue have extended their partnership to North America with a focus on providing Java migration guarantees for enterprises moving from Oracle Java to Azul's supported builds of OpenJDK.
The collaboration aims to support customers through certified Java migration services, combined with assurances that migrations will be completed within set timelines and budgets. This initiative seeks to address growing customer demand for predictability and reduced risk during migrations of business-critical Java estates.
Guaranteed migration
Through this expanded arrangement, OpenValue's migration services—which have been utilised by organisations across Europe—will now be accessible to customers in North America as well. The new Java migration guarantee aims to foster confidence among enterprises, ensuring that their transition to Azul Platform Core and Azul Platform Prime will adhere to agreed timelines and costs, while also reducing licensing risk.
Robert Bruinink, Chief Executive Officer of OpenValue Services, said:
"The demand for guaranteed Java migration services continues to accelerate in both Europe and North America. By expanding our strategic partnership with Azul, we can offer customers a proven path to move away from expensive, restrictive Oracle Java—while guaranteeing that migrations will be completed on time and on budget. Together with Azul's best-in-class Java platform, we're helping organisations optimise costs, improve performance, and take full control of their Java estates."
OpenValue, since its launch in 2017, has worked primarily with enterprises in Europe, specialising in Java and DevOps consulting. In 2020, it introduced certified Java migration services to help organisations modernise Java estates and navigate changes related to Oracle Java licensing models. The latest expansion brings these offerings—now with global guarantees—into the North American market, reflecting increased demand among enterprises for cost containment and predictability when managing Java infrastructure.
Focus on cost and reliability
Azul provides supported builds of OpenJDK and is unique in offering support for all Java versions, including legacy editions such as Java 6 and 7. Its solutions, including Azul Platform Core and Azul Platform Prime, are used in critical environments, such as financial services and eCommerce businesses. The platforms are designed to optimise performance, maintain security, and manage licensing costs for customers maintaining large Java estates.
Simon Taylor, Vice President of Global Partners and Alliances at Azul, commented on the expansion:
"Our global channel partners are instrumental in helping customers unlock the full value of Azul's Java platform. OpenValue's Java migration guarantee is a game-changer, giving enterprises the confidence to modernise their Java estates with clear expectations and no surprises. We're excited to expand this partnership into North America and continue enabling our customers and partners to drive successful, low-risk migrations to Azul."
The partnership will allow organisations in both Europe and North America to take advantage of migration guarantees that promise delivery within set timescales and budgets. These assurances are designed to help enterprises undertake large-scale technology transitions with greater certainty, reducing the risks typically associated with complex Java migrations.
