Blackpoint Cyber launches CompassOne for security management

Today

Blackpoint Cyber has introduced CompassOne, a unified security platform designed to address security tool fragmentation in the cybersecurity sector.

CompassOne is designed to give organisations the ability to manage their entire cybersecurity process, from gaining visibility and preventing threats to responding to incidents and recovering from attacks.

The platform compiles contextual data from assets across an organisation's digital landscape, analysing how these assets are connected and how potential threats could impact them. This contextual awareness is intended to support both proactive and reactive security measures by helping users prioritise actions and inform decision-making.

The platform consolidates multiple cybersecurity functionalities into one system. Features include Asset Inventory, Tenant Manager, Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Exposure Management, Managed Application Control, and Cloud Posture Management.

According to the company, the Asset Inventory feature is designed to provide comprehensive visibility across devices, user identities, cloud environments, and software-as-a-service (Saas) platforms. The Tenant Manager is designed for use by managed service providers and IT teams, allowing them to monitor clients, manage renewals and billing, and address security issues as they arise.

Other notable features include Security Posture Rating, which uses a letter-grade system aligned with recognised cybersecurity frameworks to help organisations track their maturity and compliance progress.

Vulnerability Management functionality enables automated discovery, prioritisation, and remediation of significant risks, while Application Control is intended to block unauthorised software and reduce vulnerabilities from ransomware or insider threats.

The platform's Cloud Posture Management tool focuses on monitoring and correcting potential security misconfigurations in platforms such as Microsoft 365. LogIC (Logging with Integrated Compliance) is another component, facilitating the collection and analysis of security logs to assist organisations in meeting regulatory standards and passing audits.

"Security teams don't have time to stitch together fragmented tools and dashboards. CompassOne simplifies cybersecurity by providing complete visibility, rapid response, and a fully managed approach, all in a single, cost-effective solution. No more tool sprawl. No more wasted time. No more reactive security." Jon Murchison, Founder and CEO at Blackpoint Cyber, said.

"With CompassOne, we're redefining what it means to secure every moment truly. By unifying proactive hardening and real-time response, CompassOne helps organisations measure, prioritise, and strengthen their security posture over time, with holistic visibility and context, a focus on what matters most, and all from a single platform," Manoj Srivastava, Chief Technology and Product Officer at Blackpoint Cyber, commented.

"It's the culmination of everything we've learned fighting real-world threats, built to help our customers stay ahead of the adversary and take control of their security posture like never before." Srivastava added.

The new platform is aimed at reducing the number of separate tools organisations need to operate and maintain, which can drive down costs and cut the time required for security monitoring and response.

"The convergence of posture management and incident response represents the next evolution in cybersecurity architecture. Organizations can no longer afford to maintain artificial boundaries between prevention and response – they must operate as a continuous, integrated cycle," Craig Robinson, Research Vice President, Security Services at IDC, said.

"Platforms that successfully unify these capabilities are positioned to deliver significant advantages in operational efficiency and security outcomes in today's resource-constrained environment." Robinson added.

The challenges facing managed service providers (MSPs) are also addressed by CompassOne's approach.

Jessica Davis, Principal Analyst, MSPs at Canalys, commented: "Managed service providers are a first line of defense against cyberthreats. The growing number of disconnected point products can actually increase cyber risk by creating complexity and visibility gaps. Many organizations are now prioritizing platform consolidation to improve efficiency and resilience. While managed detection and response (MDR) continues to see strong growth—Canalys forecasts a 16% increase in 2025—MSPs are also considering broader solutions that support the entire security lifecycle."

CompassOne is backed by Blackpoint Cyber's round-the-clock human-led Security Operations Center (SOC). The company states that the platform is designed for both MSPs working with multiple clients as well as internal security teams.

Drawing on the experience of former NSA cybersecurity professionals and industry specialists, Blackpoint Cyber seeks to provide a consolidated approach to detecting, preventing, and responding to modern cyber threats through CompassOne.
