Clarity has appointed Bob Osmond as Managing Partner for North America, adding him to the consultancy's global leadership team as it expands in the region.

Based in New York, Osmond will lead the North American business, overseeing regional growth, client relationships, and the development of staff and services. He will also work with Chief Executive Officer Rachel Gilley on the company's international strategy across EMEA, North America, and APAC.

The appointment brings a senior agency executive into Clarity's leadership team as the firm positions itself as an adviser to B2B technology companies on growth, reputation, and communications. Osmond is also expected to strengthen its senior advisory work through his background in executive coaching.

Osmond has spent three decades in agency leadership and strategic communications. His previous roles include senior positions at Racepoint Global, Cohn & Wolfe, Ketchum, and FleishmanHillard.

More recently, he founded FWD Strategies, a communications consulting and executive coaching business focused on strategy, growth, and organisational alignment. That experience is expected to support Clarity's work with business leaders on the relationship between reputation, communications, and commercial performance.

The consultancy has been investing in what it describes as a global model, with integrated operations across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific rather than a looser regional network. It also highlighted the use of AI-based intelligence and its Surfacd software for clients seeking to track and manage reputation in AI-driven search environments.

Leadership shift

Gilley outlined the importance of the North American market to the company's plans.

"North America has always been a critical market in our ambition to build a leading global growth consultancy for B2B technology brands, and Bob is exactly the leader we need to take our business in the region forward. He brings extensive experience of growing agency businesses, advising senior executives and developing great teams. His coaching experience adds another dimension to our advisory offering, and he shares our vision for Clarity and the culture we're building. I'm delighted to welcome him to the team and look forward to what we'll achieve together," said Rachel Gilley, Chief Executive Officer of Clarity.

Clarity works with technology brands expanding internationally and has built its offering around communications, public affairs, digital marketing, creative work, and data and insights. Its sector focus includes health technology, fintech, enterprise technology, software-as-a-service, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.

The hire also reflects a broader push among consultancies serving the technology sector to expand their offering beyond media relations and brand awareness. Firms in the market are increasingly presenting themselves as advisers on reputation, executive positioning, and market growth as clients seek support tied more closely to business outcomes.

North America remains a key market in that shift because of its concentration of large enterprise technology companies, investors, and start-ups. For UK-founded consultancies in particular, building a larger US presence has often been seen as an important test of whether they can operate as a genuinely international business rather than a domestic firm with overseas offices.

Osmond linked his move to changing demands from technology clients.

"Technology brands and their leaders recognize that communications is core to their business. They're seeking partners focused on outcomes. Clarity's investments in technologies like its Surfacd software create new ways to help clients increase answer share in a crowded marketplace. Clarity has ambitious plans for North America, building on the work the team is already doing with some of the world's most innovative technology businesses. With a strong global network to draw on, I know we'll deliver exceptional results for our clients, an outstanding experience for our team, and a foundation for future growth," said Bob Osmond.
