CollectivIQ has launched GigaBrain, a shared intelligence layer for businesses designed to turn knowledge gathered by employees and the company's AI assistants into organisational memory.

Available through the CollectivIQ platform, GigaBrain is intended to capture knowledge that sits outside formal systems, including information held in conversations, workflows and employee experience. The software connects what employees and its so-called Digital Direct Reports learn during day-to-day work and makes that information available to authorised users.

CollectivIQ describes Digital Direct Reports as specialised AI teammates that work alongside employees in a way similar to human direct reports. As staff use those tools, the system builds context around projects, processes, responsibilities, relationships and preferences.

Shared knowledge

The launch is based on the idea that businesses often struggle to retain and reuse knowledge that develops informally across teams. GigaBrain is designed to reduce the need for staff to repeatedly upload, explain or search for the same information by allowing relevant context to be reused across the organisation.

One example involves a sales representative whose AI assistant learns the details of a customer's procurement process, including approval requirements, decision-makers and purchasing timelines. That information could then be made available to other team members with the right access permissions when the customer later seeks support.

The launch places CollectivIQ in a growing market for workplace AI tools aimed at improving how employees find and use internal information. The company distinguishes GigaBrain from tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Glean by saying it is focused on capturing knowledge that emerges through employee interactions with AI assistants, including information that may never be formally documented.

The system can also trace information back to its source, giving employees visibility into where organisational knowledge originated. That is intended to help users understand the basis of the information surfaced by AI tools inside the company.

Governance features

GigaBrain includes information governance controls, including an incognito mode that allows employees to keep certain sensitive or confidential interactions from being added to the shared organisational memory.

This approach is intended to reflect the practical constraints businesses face when using AI systems with internal information. Access to shared knowledge is also subject to permissions.

John Davie, Chief Executive Officer at CollectivIQ, set out the company's position on how businesses are spending on AI tools.

"Companies are collectively spending billions to bring intelligence to their employees, but very little of that investment makes the company itself smarter," said Davie. "The breakthrough isn't just giving every employee an AI teammate, it's making sure what those employees and AI teammates learn becomes an advantage for the entire organization. GigaBrain turns everyday work into intelligence that compounds across the enterprise."

CollectivIQ said GigaBrain extends its broader strategy for Digital Direct Reports from individual productivity support to a system in which knowledge developed through that work can be retained and reused across a company. The product is intended to create an internal knowledge layer that sits alongside the broader information available from large language models.

The business said it was founded by the leadership team behind Buyers Edge Platform. With GigaBrain added to its existing platform, CollectivIQ is positioning its software as a way for companies to build a reusable base of internal knowledge from everyday work rather than relying only on static documents and conventional enterprise systems.
