Datarails launches Desk for finance request ticketing

Datarails has launched Datarails Desk, a ticketing system for finance teams that links requests to underlying financial records in the company's FinanceOS platform.

The product targets a routine problem in finance departments: requests such as invoice queries, payment checks, reimbursement submissions, budget approvals, tax form requests, and vendor onboarding often arrive through email, Slack, Teams, and spreadsheets. As a result, teams can end up without a central record of requests, with limited visibility into workloads and response times, and with weak audit trails.

Desk is designed for the way finance teams handle requests, with a single owner expected to manage a case from intake to closure. Datarails contrasts that model with broader ticketing systems more commonly used in customer support and internal service functions.

The system runs on FinanceOS, Datarails' governed finance data layer, which automatically pulls records such as invoices, payments, contracts, and vendor or customer files into each ticket. An embedded artificial intelligence agent then drafts a response for a staff member to review and send.

The launch adds another product to Datarails' push to extend FinanceOS across the Chief Financial Officer's office. The company recently raised USD $70 million in a Series C funding round and has also introduced Spend Control and an AI Transformation Package for finance teams.

The workflow

Desk is intended to centralise requests from several communication channels into one queue. Through FinanceOS, the product can connect to enterprise resource planning systems, human resources information systems, customer relationship management systems, and other financial platforms.

That link is meant to reduce the manual work finance staff often do when they search across different systems for supporting documents or transaction records before replying to a request. The product also includes automated routing, service-level timers, team-based permissions, and dashboards showing open tickets, bottlenecks, response times, and workloads.

The audit trail records every action taken on a ticket, while data permissions can be separated across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial planning and analysis, and legal teams.

Didi Gurfinkel, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Datarails, outlined the problem the company is trying to address.

"Finance teams lose hours every week hunting for invoices, contracts, payment records and lots of other things buried in other systems, simply so they can answer basic questions that should take two minutes," said Didi Gurfinkel, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Datarails. "We didn't want to build another queue that tracks a request and calls it solved. Desk is built on the idea that a finance ticket isn't resolved until it's grounded in the actual financial record behind it, which is exactly what FinanceOS makes possible."

AI in finance

The release of Desk comes as software suppliers continue to market artificial intelligence tools to finance departments, particularly in areas where teams spend time pulling data from fragmented systems. A central issue for vendors has been whether AI-generated answers can be clearly tied to underlying records and checked by staff before they are sent externally or used in internal decisions.

Datarails is positioning Desk around that concern by linking each request to financial records already held in its system. The company argues that this produces more reliable draft responses than a general-purpose ticketing platform using AI without direct access to company finance data.

Gurfinkel drew that distinction directly when discussing how the product works.

"You can bolt an AI chatbot onto any ticketing system, but if it isn't grounded in the company's own invoices, contracts, and vendor records, it's just guessing in a more confident tone," said Gurfinkel. "Desk's AI works from the same governed financial data every other Datarails product runs on, so the response it drafts is one your team can actually stand behind."

Desk is available now.
