Doppel names ex-Xerox exec as Chief Security Advisor

Doppel has appointed former Xerox executive Joey Rachid as Chief Security Advisor and Field CISO, adding a four-time CISO to the cybersecurity company's leadership team.

Rachid most recently served as Global Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Security Officer at Xerox, where he led a global security organisation of more than 100 people. He brings more than 20 years of cybersecurity and risk leadership experience across global enterprises, high-growth companies and critical infrastructure.

In the new role, Rachid will work with customers and Doppel's go-to-market teams. He is also expected to help shape product and commercial strategy through the lens of a long-serving security executive.

His appointment comes as organisations face growing concern over social engineering attacks, including impersonation, phishing and fraud. Doppel focuses on defending against those threats through a platform that combines digital risk protection, human risk management and email security.

Leadership changes

The appointment is part of a broader expansion of Doppel's leadership group. In recent months, it promoted Alyssa Smrekar to Chief Marketing Officer and Rhiley Walsh to Head of Legal, Senior Director.

Doppel also added Ofir Ronen, a former Varonis Systems and Vectra AI executive, as Senior Vice President of Customer Success. Joshua Bartolomie, formerly Chief Security Officer at Cofense, joined as Vice President and Head of Global Threat Intelligence.

The changes strengthen the company's senior ranks across security, customer success, marketing, legal and sales strategy. Rachid's hire also adds another executive with direct experience in large corporate security operations.

His Xerox background may carry weight with prospective customers as cybersecurity vendors compete for larger enterprise contracts. Field CISO roles have become more common across the sector as providers try to bridge the gap between product teams and security leaders at client organisations.

At many cybersecurity companies, executives in these roles advise customers while feeding operational concerns back into internal planning. That can include helping shape product priorities, messaging and sales discussions around the needs of Chief Information Security Officers.

Industry profile

The leadership build-out has coincided with external recognition for the company. Fast Company named Doppel to its 2026 Best Workplaces for Innovators list, while SiliconANGLE selected it as a winner in the AI-Powered Threat Detection category in its 2026 TechForward Awards.

Doppel positions itself around the growing use of artificial intelligence in social engineering attacks. Its technology is designed to identify threats across channels, connect alerts through a shared intelligence layer and help security teams respond to malicious infrastructure as well as direct inbox attacks.

The market for tools aimed at countering social engineering has drawn increased attention as attackers use AI to create more believable phishing messages, impersonation campaigns and other forms of fraud. Companies in the sector are trying to show they can detect not only isolated incidents but also the wider networks and tactics behind them.

Against that backdrop, appointing a senior security executive with experience in both risk management and large-scale operations gives Doppel a more prominent customer-facing adviser as it seeks to deepen relationships with enterprise security teams.
