Empromptu launches no-code AI platform for reliable business apps
Empromptu has launched a platform aimed at enabling businesses to create no-code AI applications with a focus on reliability, production-readiness, and seamless integration with existing technology infrastructure.
The company's solution is described as a response to the shortcomings of current 'vibe coding' tools, which are popular for rapid prototype development but reportedly struggle with enterprise-grade requirements such as stability, observability, and governance once deployed in business environments. Empromptu's approach centres on generating full AI applications rather than simply embedding AI features into existing software.
Shanea Leven, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Empromptu, said:
"There's no shortage of tools that leverage AI to build an application, but building an 'AI' application is different. Empromptu cuts through the vibe coding hype to make reliable AI applications a reality. From the startup founder with a dream to global enterprises looking to leapfrog competitors, to larger organizations, every business can leverage Empromptu to build a complete AI stack that integrates with existing systems and delivers enterprise-grade reliability and trust from day one."
The platform's architecture is based on proprietary AI response optimisation technology, which, the company states, achieves an accuracy rate of up to 98%. This figure compares to what Empromptu claims is an average accuracy of 60–70% among widely used app builders. The company also references a recent MIT study suggesting that the failure rate for AI pilot projects currently stands at 95%, indicating a major challenge for enterprises that Empromptu seeks to address.
Empromptu's offering incorporates what it describes as a complete AI stack, including retrieval-augmented generation, large language model operations tooling, automatic optimisation of AI responses, and deployable back-ends that work in real-world business settings. Features also include context engineering, individual task optimisation, quality scoring, AI output control, and explainability in AI decision-making, providing transparency for business users.
The company is targeting businesses ranging from solo entrepreneurs to large, established enterprises. Its platform provides tools for the automated generation of applications that include both front-end and back-end components, AI logic, and user interfaces tailored to integrate with existing workflows. The company emphasises that its applications are designed for production use, featuring context engineering, visible quality scores, and explainable decision-making processes, rather than 'black-box' outcomes.
Security and compliance are also addressed, with the platform offering features such as SOC 2 compliance, payment integration, and options for deployment via cloud, GitHub, Docker, or on-premises infrastructure. Empromptu offers expert support, pricing that is based on predictable credit usage, and transparent AI decision-making to help manage operational costs.
The company was founded by Dr Sean Robinson, whose academic research focused on optimisation technology powering the platform's core, and Shanea Leven, who brings experience from Docker, Cloudflare, Google, and a previous role as Chief Executive Officer of CodeSee.io.
One organisation already using Empromptu's technology is Practicing Musician, a Seattle-based social purpose corporation providing free online music education and resources to the community. Rory Creigh, Director of AI and Education at Practicing Musician, described their experience with the platform:
"With Empromptu, we built a complex education application in a highly specialized domain, and the results have been remarkable. Hallucinations are virtually solved. Every time, we have seen 98% accuracy or better. That reliability lets us serve the community with intuitive, research-based learning, expanding our impact and making music education more accessible."
According to Empromptu, more than 1,000 companies have joined the waitlist and are currently onboarding to use the platform to develop production-ready AI solutions.
