Yesterday

Ensono is adopting Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to manage IT operations and enhance automation across its business.

Red Hat has announced that Ensono, a technology advisor and managed service provider, is utilising the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform as part of a broader move to improve its IT management and build a collaborative community of practice within the company.

Ensono has used the platform to develop its Envision automation framework, integrating with ServiceNow to enable end-to-end automation of processes across its operations.

The new automation platform has driven measurable efficiencies for Ensono in its first year of implementation. The company reported the management of over 30,000 IT assets and resources using Ansible Automation Platform, with the system running 40 million tasks and completing 225,000 jobs.

By automating repetitive and manual tasks, Ensono states it has saved more than 210,000 hours of IT labour, allowing teams to focus on higher-value, strategic activities for the business.

The platform's automation analytics have provided Ensono with deeper insights into operational performance. These analytics have enabled the company to proactively identify and resolve potential issues, using this data to determine priorities for future automation initiatives based on tangible time and cost benefits.

Ensono has leveraged Event-Driven Ansible to create a more responsive IT management environment, enabling faster resolution of disruptions and helping improve the availability and performance of applications. The company has noted this approach has reduced the cost of delivering services through greater automation and efficiency.

Certified content collections from Red Hat have been employed as foundational tools, supporting a consistent approach to IT automation across multiple teams and technologies, including IBM Z systems. Ensono reports this has accelerated time-to-value for various automation efforts and contributed to repeatable success in its projects.

Tim Beerman, Chief Technology Officer at Ensono, said, "Ansible Automation Platform has helped us simplify how we manage a complex environment. It's taken a lot of manual, repetitive work off our teams' plates, letting them focus more on innovation and solving real business problems. The speed and scale we've gained in such a short time have made this a core part of how we operate going forward."

To reinforce the impact of automation, Ensono collaborated with Red Hat Consulting to create a community of practice within its organisation. This internal community aims to share best practices and foster the exchange of knowledge across different disciplines and teams. Ensono states that this initiative reflects the company's value of collaboration and supports continuous learning and insight-sharing among its associates.

Looking to future developments, Ensono plans to explore the use of Red Hat Ansible Lightspeed. By deploying its generative AI capabilities, Ensono aims to make automation accessible to a broader base within the organisation, codify best practices, and facilitate more widespread adoption of automation. The company sees potential for Ansible Lightspeed, which is trained on Ansible data, to accelerate the development and integration of new automation use cases with Ensono's existing automation workflows.

Sathish Balakrishnan, Vice President and General Manager, Ansible at Red Hat, said, "As a leader in the market, our goal is to set the standard for what IT automation can help customers achieve. Customers rely on Ansible Automation Platform to bridge knowledge gaps, tackle operational complexity and unify varying tools across the enterprise. Ensono's remarkable results are a clear example of how impactful IT automation can be to drive outcomes, and leveraging IT automation as a strategic priority will continue to be fundamental as businesses harness AI to deliver significant value."

Ensono's adoption of the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform marks a strategic focus on expanding automation practices to improve both operational efficiency and customer service delivery.
