Gallagher’s High Sec C7000 earns two awards for security innovation

Today

Gallagher Security's High Security Controller 7000 has received two industry awards recognising its capabilities in access control and operational technology security.

The High Security Controller 7000, also known as the High Sec C7000, was awarded the GOVIES Government Security Award for Access Control - Software/Controllers and the Fortress Cybersecurity Award for Operational Technology.

Awards recognition

The GOVIES Government Security Awards highlight products designed to address the specific security demands of government entities, while the Fortress Cybersecurity Awards celebrate products and companies that contribute to managing cyber risk and ensuring operational integrity.

These recognitions follow the launch of the High Sec C7000 in the Americas and globally, where it has been positioned for deployment at sites that require a focus on high-consequence security controls.

This recognition underscores the power of Gallagher's approach to secure, unified architecture. The High Sec C7000 builds on a long legacy of innovation, with cybersecurity deeply embedded from silicon to software. It's an honor to see this platform recognized for helping customers meet tomorrow's challenges today.

Jim Rayner, Senior Product Manager for Gallagher Security, emphasised the importance of this achievement for the company, pointing to the controller's technological development and layered security features.

Technology and compliance

The High Sec C7000 controller has been certified to meet various international and regional standards. It is GSA-approved and compliant with the US government's PIV requirements (FIPS 201-3). In addition, it meets UL/ULC standards and holds Class 5 certification for deployment in Australia and New Zealand.

The controller incorporates a FIPS-approved microprocessor, EdgeLock Secure Element, and Trusted Execution Environment (TEE). These hardware and software components are designed to mitigate risks related to firmware attacks and supply chain vulnerabilities, relevant to sectors that require robust resilience against cyber threats and operational disruption.

Operational environments

Jeff Fields, Director of Government Programs – Americas at Gallagher Security, underlined the critical environments where such technology must operate, including government agencies, utilities, and data centres.

Our team has engineered the High Sec C7000 for the most demanding operational environments. Whether it's federal agencies, utilities, or data centers, our customers need resilient solutions with proactive cybersecurity capabilities. To be recognized by both the GOVIES and the Fortress Cybersecurity Awards shows that our solutions aren't just secure, they're leading the way.

Gallagher Security's portfolio includes the C7000 Single Door, Standard, Enhanced, and the High Security variants, configured to support a range of requirements from edge access points to complex enterprise systems. According to the release, these systems focus on delivering both physical security and cybersecurity through all points of deployment.

Security industry context

The awards received for the High Sec C7000 reflect broader industry trends where access control and operational technology sectors are focusing more intensely on resilience and unified security postures in the face of rising vulnerabilites and evolving regulatory requirements. Both government and private organisations are adopting solutions with certifications and features aligned to these operational needs.

The acknowledgment from Security Today and the Business Intelligence Group through their respective award programmes highlights the ongoing demand for secure architecture in access control departments globally. These awards add to Gallagher Security's history of product recognition within the security hardware and software industry, following previous deployments across various regulatory settings and sectors.

The High Sec C7000 will continue to serve as part of Gallagher Security's global controller offering, addressing access management and cybersecurity requirements for sites with elevated threat profiles and compliance obligations.
