Geotab reaches 5 million global vehicle subscriptions milestone

Geotab has surpassed 5 million connected vehicle subscriptions globally, reflecting significant growth in its connected vehicle and asset solutions business.

The company reported that it added its most recent one million subscriptions in less than two years, indicating accelerating adoption of its fleet management technology by organisations across a diverse international customer base. Geotab processes more than 100 billion data points each day, supporting a wide range of fleet operations through data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI).

Neil Cawse, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Geotab, commented on the company's achievement, stating, "Geotab's journey is about relentless innovation and with 630 global patents, we have made a significant impact on the industry over the last 25 years. The growth in connected vehicle subscriptions highlights Geotab's ongoing expansion, both in terms of technology and market reach. The company now supports over 55,000 customers globally, ranging from Fortune 500 firms to mid-sized operators and large public sector fleets, including clients such as the US Federal Government.

Data-driven benefits

Geotab's platform delivers actionable insights that help businesses manage their vehicle fleets with greater efficiency. According to the company, the aggregation of over 37 trillion data points annually underpins its AI and machine learning models, enabling predictive analytics and benchmarks that assist fleets in making faster and more informed decisions.

The capabilities focus on reducing unexpected vehicle downtime, improving safety, and decreasing daily mileage through optimised routing, supporting customers in reducing fuel consumption and operating costs. This year also marks Geotab's 25th anniversary, during which it has grown from a small start-up to an international company employing more than 2,900 staff. Over this period, the company has acquired 630 patents and consistently invested in research and development, supporting advancements in connected vehicle technology and fleet management solutions.

Geotab's growth has seen the development of an ecosystem involving over 700 partners and the establishment of the Geotab Marketplace, which now includes nearly 530 solutions. These offerings enable customers to tailor their fleet management systems by integrating various third-party and Geotab-developed applications addressing everything from compliance to sustainability.

Security and privacy also remain a focus, with the company stating that it holds FIPS 140-3 and FedRAMP authorisations. These certifications are designed to assure customers regarding the handling and protection of sensitive vehicle and operational data.
