InvoiceCloud has partnered with BlitzenX to support billing and payment operations for property and casualty insurers.

The partnership combines InvoiceCloud's digital billing and payment platform with BlitzenX's insurance core systems work, including policy, billing and claims platforms. It is intended to give carriers a simpler way to modernise payment processes and policyholder communications while broader system changes are under way.

Combined offering

InvoiceCloud provides billing, payment and disbursement software to customers in insurance, utilities and government. BlitzenX focuses on system integration for property and casualty insurers and describes itself as a Guidewire-exclusive integrator, with experience in PolicyCentre, BillingCentre and ClaimCentre projects, as well as upgrades, managed services, cloud migrations and integrations.

Billing and payments have become a growing focus in insurers' modernisation programmes as carriers seek to improve self-service options for policyholders and reduce manual work for finance and service teams. The joint offering covers digital bill presentment and payment, policyholder messaging and claims disbursements, with payment data reconciled across billing and policy administration systems.

Under the arrangement, insurers could offer branded payment journeys, mobile access and real-time payment reminders. Carriers could also support digital disbursements through ACH, push-to-debit, digital wallets and instant payout channels, aimed at speeding claims payments alongside billing changes.

InvoiceCloud said its platform includes embedded artificial intelligence within its electronic bill presentment and payment system. BlitzenX adds implementation and integration expertise across the insurance systems many carriers use to run policy administration, billing and claims.

Modernisation focus

The partnership reflects a broader push across the insurance sector to connect customer-facing payment tools with back-office systems that often run on older technology. Carriers are trying to improve online servicing and payment completion rates while avoiding fragmented upgrades that leave billing, policy data and claims functions disconnected.

"At InvoiceCloud, we believe strong partnerships create greater value for carriers," said Angela Abbott, Vice President, Alliances, Insurance, InvoiceCloud. "BlitzenX brings deep P&C insurance and core systems expertise that complements our payment and customer engagement platform, enabling us to help more insurers accelerate modernization initiatives and achieve better outcomes for their policyholders."

BlitzenX said the deal expands the range of vendors and services it can bring into insurance transformation projects. Its work has centred on carrier-side delivery support and core platform changes, and the partnership adds a billing and payments specialist to that mix.

Customer payments

The insurance market has placed more emphasis on customer communications and payment flexibility as policyholders increasingly expect the same digital options they use in other consumer transactions. For carriers, those expectations can affect retention, service costs and how quickly premiums are collected or claims are paid.

InvoiceCloud said it serves more than 3,250 customers across utilities, government and insurance. Its software is designed to increase digital payment, AutoPay and paperless adoption while lowering costs and reducing staff workloads.

BlitzenX has built its business around Guidewire environments, which remain widely used by property and casualty insurers for core operations. That specialisation means the company is often involved in programmes where insurers are replacing or upgrading legacy policy, billing and claims systems and need surrounding services to integrate cleanly with those projects.

Ecosystem growth

"We're excited to partner with InvoiceCloud as we continue expanding the BlitzenX ecosystem across the insurance landscape," said Curtis Matthews, Principal, BlitzenX. "InvoiceCloud has established itself as a leader in digital billing, payments, and customer engagement. Together, we see significant opportunities to help P&C carriers modernize policyholder experiences while reducing administrative overhead and improving operational performance."
