Mendix extends Snowflake partnership to boost AI app delivery
Mendix has announced that it will continue its collaboration with Snowflake to integrate low-code application development with Snowflake's AI-driven data platform.
According to Mendix, the partnership has already delivered tangible outcomes across several industries, decreasing the time needed to deliver value from new apps and enabling rapid modernisation of legacy technology for enterprise customers.
Customer impact
One industrial manufacturer leveraged Snowflake's data tools together with Mendix to construct and roll out new applications within 16 weeks. Another industrial manufacturer modernised its technological infrastructure, completing the development and deployment of its initial suite of applications in just four months.
Collaboration between different teams has been facilitated as well. A large oil and gas enterprise reportedly deployed over 100 Mendix applications, with 75 percent integrated with Snowflake. The collaboration gave data engineers the capacity to actively support software development in cooperation with internal developers and business end users.
Data security and visibility have also been enhanced within the manufacturing sector. An aerospace company combined Mendix with Snowflake's AI Data Cloud, using dynamic data masking to restrict and safeguard sensitive data while also benefitting from the Mendix platform's integrated controls for overseeing application development. The combined tools were used to improve operational efficiency on the manufacturing floor.
An example from the transport sector saw a public authority utilise Mendix to create over 10 applications that aggregated data from various inputs for Snowflake-based analysis. This approach enabled greater visibility into organisational data and enabled insights that contributed to process improvements and informed decision-making.
Adoption in the automotive sector
Siemens Energy is another example highlighted by Mendix, having deployed more than 200 applications with Mendix since 2018. Nearly all factory-related projects at Siemens Energy have also been connected to Snowflake's platform. Franz Klammler, R&D Engineer & Low Code Lead at Siemens Energy, commented on the joint value of the platforms:
"Snowflake is our data brain. Everything you need is in Snowflake, and of course, an app without data is good for nothing. Having both platforms work together has been helpful, as we can bring together several use cases into one application in Mendix. It makes the architecture clearer, and you only have to sync once to Snowflake."
Mendix became a Snowflake Data Cloud Product partner in the launch of Snowflake Automotive Solutions in May 2025. Snowflake's Automotive Solutions are positioned to provide customers with a streamlined development process, a scalable platform, and real-time transparency across supply chains, inventory, and logistics. The partnership is expected to allow greater flexibility for automotive manufacturers as Snowflake introduces additional models or features, making advanced analytics with AI and machine learning more broadly available within this sector.
Integration and governance
According to Snowflake, the combined offering is intended to go beyond traditional analytics by driving intelligence and actionable insights through the integration of Snowflake's Cortex AI and Mendix's development environment. Tim Long, Global Head of Manufacturing at Snowflake, stated:
"Snowflake customers are looking to go beyond traditional analytics, and our collaboration with Mendix allows them to quickly create intelligent and actionable enterprise applications using Snowflake's Cortex AI. We look forward to seeing the business value our customers will achieve through this seamless integration."
The collaboration between Mendix and Snowflake also aims to help businesses centralise their data in order to avoid the creation of artificial intelligence silos as organisations pursue multi-platform digital strategies. The partnership enables enterprises to maintain consistent governance and control as they integrate new digital initiatives and applications.
