NeuBird AI names Venkat Ramakrishnan president & COO
NeuBird AI has appointed Venkat Ramakrishnan as President and Chief Operating Officer as the company expands commercial operations for its AI-driven site reliability engineering product.
Ramakrishnan has held senior roles across large technology groups and venture-backed software firms. His background includes positions at Cisco and IBM, and he was part of the early team at Portworx, which was acquired by Pure Storage.
NeuBird AI sells an "agentic AI SRE" product aimed at incident response and operations work for developer and SRE teams. The company positions the software as an autonomous system for handling alerts and incidents across modern infrastructure.
Ramakrishnan said he had worked with NeuBird AI's founders previously at Portworx and later encountered NeuBird AI as a customer during his time at Pure Storage.
"I first partnered with Gou and Vinod in their previous venture at Portworx. I was also a customer of NeuBird AI in my prior role at Pure Storage where I saw the power of the solution in action and realized the huge market potential," said Venkat Ramakrishnan, President and Chief Operating Officer, NeuBird AI.
In the new role, he will take responsibility for business operations and commercial execution. NeuBird AI said the remit includes establishing repeatable go-to-market motions across enterprise and commercial segments and scaling business teams.
Commercial focus
The appointment comes as software suppliers increasingly focus on operational automation for IT teams dealing with large volumes of alerts, expanding cloud estates, and more complex application stacks. Incident management and observability have become major categories for tools spend, alongside a growing set of products that apply machine learning and automation to reduce manual work.
NeuBird AI said its customers used the product to autonomously resolve 230,000 alerts in 2025. The company put the associated savings at USD $1.8 million in engineering spend for that period.
Ramakrishnan described the product's impact in terms of workload reduction for operations teams. "The NeuBird AI team has built something truly unique: an AI agent that is fundamentally improving how enterprises can run their infrastructure in ways never before possible. I've experienced first hand how NeuBird AI's SRE agent helps customers reduce alert fatigue and decrease the toil of the DevOps and platform SREs. With NeuBird AI, companies are saving hundreds of thousands of man hours, preventing hundreds of millions in lost revenue and significantly increasing ROI on enterprise infrastructure. This is exactly the kind of transformational technology I want to help scale. The problem statement is huge, the market opportunity is massive and the timing is perfect," said Ramakrishnan.
Track record
At Pure Storage, Ramakrishnan served as General Manager of the Cloud Native Business Unit. NeuBird AI said he helped establish Portworx by Pure Storage in enterprise Kubernetes environments following the acquisition.
Earlier in his career he held roles at Fusion-io, AMD and Western Digital, according to the company. NeuBird AI said he has led teams across engineering, product development, marketing, sales, customer success and technical support.
NeuBird AI is led by Co-Founder and Chief Executive Gou Rao. Rao said Ramakrishnan's experience would be used to connect product development with customer requirements and commercial execution as NeuBird AI expands.
"Venkat's ability to connect customer pain points to technology solutions and deliver ROI to customers makes him uniquely suited for our company," said Gou Rao, Co-Founder and CEO, NeuBird AI.
Rao said the company planned to increase investment across go-to-market and research and development, alongside expansion across functions.
"We've developed the world's most advanced agentic AI platform for incident resolution that eliminates the enterprise pain points of managing large scale infrastructure. Our AI SRE agent is production-ready for companies of all sizes, and we're already seeing strong traction among commercial and enterprise customers. His experience will be valuable as we scale our global go-to-market functions and drive customer adoption and revenue growth. It's going to be a big year for NeuBird AI as we invest heavily in go-to-market and R&D, expanding our team across all functions," said Rao.
Market positioning
Ramakrishnan also pointed to broader dissatisfaction with existing incident management and observability tooling, particularly around cost and complexity. "NeuBird's agentic AI SRE dramatically simplifies customers' lives and disrupts the status quo in the incident management and observability market, which is currently underserved by expensive and arcane tools. The power of NeuBird's agentic AI technology is the next evolution of autonomous incident response," said Ramakrishnan.
He added: "We're redefining how businesses approach incident resolution and eliminate downtime," said Ramakrishnan.
NeuBird AI described its broader strategy as applying agentic AI to IT operations in response to a shortage of skilled staff and growing complexity in modern technology stacks. The company said the product analyses operational data and provides real-time, actionable insights for teams running infrastructure at scale.
