O.C. Tanner unveils AI tools to enhance employee recognition

Yesterday

O.C. Tanner has introduced an AI-driven suite of tools, Culture Intelligence, aimed at enhancing recognition amongst employees and reducing the risk of them leaving their jobs due to feeling undervalued.

The initiative is part of the organisation's continued efforts to connect employee recognition with retention outcomes. Robert Ordever, European Managing Director of O.C. Tanner, stated, "Our smart AI tools are focused on improving the quality and delivery of recognition while effectively connecting the dots between recognition and employee retention. Poor recognition can negatively impact an organisation's return-on-investment and workplace culture which is why it's so important to get it right. Our AI suite supports managers and employees to ensure appreciation is top of mind and delivered with impact and meaning."

Culture Intelligence, a feature of O.C. Tanner's Culture Cloud platform, includes Recognition Coach, which provides micro-coaching in real-time to enhance recognition delivery. Additionally, the suite features Dashboards that assist managers and leaders in visualising the relationship between recognition and retention.

Smart Notifications are also part of the suite. They deliver automated prompts encouraging employees to recognise one another while notifying managers when their direct reports have not received adequate recognition. Moreover, the 'MyCircle' tool uses machine learning to map out informal connections within the organisation, recommending a personalised list of individuals for users to engage with to bolster workplace relationships.

"AI is here to stay and so it's important that business and HR leaders harness safe and value-adding generative AI tools such as our Culture Intelligence suite, which are leading the way in the recognition space," Ordever remarked.

The Recognition Coach mentors employees and managers by offering real-time tips to make recognition more relevant and personalised. Using the Dashboards, organisations can more clearly see how a lack of recognition can place employees at risk of leaving.

O.C. Tanner has built this AI toolset using a purposefully trained model through years of research into workplace culture and extensive recognition data. This makes recognition not only more efficient but also more effective and inclusive. The Recognition Coach analyses over 100 million recognition moments to provide instant feedback on improving recognition communications.

Ordever added, "With Culture Intelligence, organisations now have access to an advanced AI toolkit that ensures every recognition moment is timely, memorable and impactful. Plus, by providing leaders with analytics that demonstrate the link between recognition giving and retention, this strengthens the case for a culture of integrated recognition in which meaningful appreciation is given, received and witnessed every single day."
