Omnissa named a leader in Gartner 2025 DaaS Magic Quadrant

Thu, 4th Sep 2025

Omnissa has been named a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Desktop as a Service (DaaS) for the third consecutive year and received one of the two highest scores across all evaluated Use Cases in Gartner's 2025 Critical Capabilities for DaaS report.

Gartner's research is widely referenced in the technology sector to benchmark product and vendor performance in the DaaS market. The Magic Quadrant evaluates vendors based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute, while the Critical Capabilities report assesses providers against a set of functional criteria mapped to business use cases.

Bharath Rangarajan, Senior Vice President of Products and Technology Alliances at Omnissa, commented on the recognition, stating,

"In our view, being named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for the third consecutive year is more than a milestone - it's a testament to our continued focus on innovation, execution, and delivering meaningful results for our customers. As organisations navigate increasing IT complexity, we remain committed to helping them by delivering solutions that enhance the employee experience while reducing the cost and effort of desktop management."

Omnissa's Horizon Cloud portfolio is at the core of its DaaS offering, providing secure virtual desktop and application delivery with options for deployment on public cloud services, hybrid infrastructures, or customer-managed data centre environments. The platform incorporates managed cloud infrastructure from providers such as Microsoft Azure and AWS, enabling a range of enterprise use cases.

The Horizon Cloud solution is designed to offer secure access to desktops and applications from any supported device or browser. Organisations can select from deployment models that best fit their IT strategies, whether favouring fully cloud-hosted, hybrid, or on-premises configurations. According to the company, this flexibility allows businesses to adapt their virtual desktop strategy to evolving workforce needs while maintaining control over security and operational performance.

Horizon Cloud forms part of the broader Omnissa platform, which unifies virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), unified endpoint management (UEM), digital employee experience (DEX), and security and compliance features. This integrated approach supports end user productivity, centralises management tasks for IT teams, and aims to address the needs of distributed and hybrid workforces.

Omnissa states that by integrating these management, security, and user experience functions, its platform helps organisations reduce operational complexity and improve organisational resilience. The platform is designed to support both physical and virtual environments, promoting a consistent digital experience regardless of worker location or device choice.

The 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Desktop as a Service highlights trends and leading vendors in the rapidly changing DaaS sector. The 2025 Gartner Critical Capabilities for DaaS report further breaks down performance across use cases such as workforce mobility, security, scalability, and application management.

Gartner provides the following clarification regarding its Magic Quadrant and Critical Capabilities publications: "Gartner does not endorse any vendor, product or service depicted in its research publications, and does not advise technology users to select only those vendors with the highest ratings or other designation. Omnissa reports a customer base of 26,000 worldwide organisations and a workforce of around 4,000 employees. The company has operated in the digital workspace sector for two decades, maintaining a focus on cloud-powered and AI-enhanced solutions for enterprise IT.
