Oracle & Duality bring secure AI analytics to government cloud
Oracle and Duality Technologies have partnered to make Duality's secure data collaboration platform available on Oracle Cloud Marketplace, deployable via Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for government, defence, and intelligence organisations.
This integration allows customers operating in mission-critical and regulated sectors to use OCI's security features and interoperability across government, sovereign, and classified cloud environments, including Oracle Cloud Isolated Regions. The collaboration brings privacy-first artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enable secure data exchange and analysis.
Through this partnership, customers can issue encrypted queries across networks and receive confidential results within seconds, all while meeting high security and compliance requirements. OCI's high-bandwidth, low-latency architecture supports Duality's platform to run compute-intensive analytics and AI workloads, aligning with the operational needs of defence and intelligence missions.
"Government and defence organisations need to balance innovation with absolute confidentiality," said Dr. Alon Kaufman, Chief Executive Officer of Duality Technologies. "By making our secure data collaboration platform available to Oracle customers, we empower agencies to unlock crucial intelligence and analytical value from their data, while upholding the highest standards for security and privacy."
Duality running on OCI allows confidential and secure investigations on any dataset in any domain. Data subjects and the results of investigations remain protected throughout the process. Several technical features are enabled for customers:
Quantum-ready solutions
Customers have access to quantum-ready cross-domain solutions that facilitate secure data transfer and analysis across varying security levels. This allows investigators to perform high-to-low side investigations and access sensitive data, minimising risks associated with current or potential quantum computing threats. These measures are designed to help protect the long-term integrity of important data.
Homomorphic encryption capabilities
The platform leverages homomorphic encryption technology, which allows computations on encrypted datasets without the need to decrypt them. This enables national security and defence sectors to carry out analytics across datasets held by different stakeholders without compromising on data confidentiality, supporting collaboration across traditional trust boundaries.
Secure Multiparty Computation (MPC)
Secure Multiparty Computation allows agencies or multiple partners to collaborate on sensitive joint analyses without disclosing their respective raw data inputs. This feature supports the derivation of joint insights into shared challenges while ensuring that the privacy and confidentiality of underlying information remain intact.
Federated learning support
Federated learning embedded in the Duality platform offers the ability to train AI models across decentralised and diverse data sources without the need to consolidate or centralise potentially sensitive source data. This supports the construction of robust AI models that reflect multiple operational perspectives across edge locations or separate security domains.
Built-in governance
The platform includes built-in data governance tools for enforcing access controls, tracking data interactions, ensuring compliance, and maintaining audit trails. These features aim to support customers in upholding need-to-know policies and meeting strict regulatory criteria associated with government and defence missions.
High-performance infrastructure
Oracle's infrastructure is optimised to provide high bandwidth and low latency for privacy-enhancing analytics on encrypted data. It is specifically designed to meet the intensive computational demands of government organisations handling sensitive information, ensuring that critical analysis is not delayed.
"Our commitment to national security and defence organisations goes beyond providing a secure cloud, it's about creating a comprehensive and trusted ecosystem of solutions that enables our customers to meet their unique requirements and successfully execute their most critical missions," said Rand Waldron, Vice President at Oracle. "By making Duality's platform available on the Oracle Cloud Marketplace, we are enabling our customers to collaborate securely and leverage advanced AI tools to transform sensitive data into a decisive, strategic advantage."
The collaboration provides government and defence users with access to tools that protect sensitive data while enabling secure, regulatory-compliant collaboration and analysis across agencies. This supports strategic planning and decision-making by offering enhanced privacy-preserving technologies on Oracle's cloud infrastructure.
