PPDS & True Performance collaborate on dvLED displays
PPDS has entered into a new technology partnership with True Performance to enhance its Philips Professional dvLED displays with Pantone Validated colour performance and advanced calibration features.
This collaboration is centred around producing dvLED displays that are trade-ready for government and military settings and comply with TAA standards. The displays will be made in Europe, as part of PPDS' commitment to providing robust solutions for mission-critical environments that demand exceptional data security and video quality.
True Performance, a German company established in 1992, specialises in the creation of sophisticated LED solutions for professional and commercial use. The partnership extends PPDS' array of TAA compliant displays, adding to its portfolio which includes the Philips Signage 4000 Series D-Line and Philips Videowall X-Line.
In the United States, PPDS aims to leverage this partnership to gain traction in competing for government-led projects, offering TAA compliant solutions that meet the needs of various executive departments.
The combined technologies from PPDS and True Performance promise enhanced visual specifications, including resolutions up to 7680 x 4320, 240Hz frame rates, advanced greyscale and colour fidelity, and near-zero latency.
Jeroen Brants, Global Product Director dvLED for PPDS, commented on the collaboration: "For this new range, we are augmenting the already proven benefits of our leading Philips Unite LED line up with new functionality from True Performance to create a brand new total solution. The production in Europe makes it even more compelling, with our global product managers and technical support based here, and many of our customers requesting a made in Europe solution and TAA compliance. And of course, with the colour accuracy that can now be achieved, it makes this ideal for our partners needing that perfect brand representation, for instance, with Oracle Red Bull Racing."
True Performance achieved a milestone in 2024 by becoming the first dvLED solutions provider to acquire Pantone and Pantone SkinToneTM Validation, ensuring the products can deliver precise colour accuracy. Pantone's recognition is a significant marker for colour capability and accuracy worldwide.
This validation opens doors beyond traditional settings, offering benefits in fields where colour fidelity is vital, such as automotive design, fashion, virtual production, and live broadcasting, among others.
The new Philips LED displays will feature automatic calibration technology, facilitating optimal colour consistency. This feature ensures colour calibration is conducted once in the European factory and maintained automatically throughout the product's lifespan.
The displays will also incorporate remote management through the Philips Wave ecosystem, providing advanced display management and predictive maintenance capabilities.
Yury Romov, CEO of True Performance, stated: "We are excited to partner with PPDS to bring our True Performance technology into these new Philips Professional Displays. Together we bring a unique proposition into the global market, and we are thrilled to be showcasing these benefits on the Philips stand 3P500 at ISE 2025 in Barcelona."
Martijn van der Woude, VP Global Marketing and Business Development at PPDS, added: "At PPDS, we have adopted an open approach to the way we do business. We can't do everything ourselves and there are some truly fantastic technologies in the market that, in partnership, bring augmented benefits and even greater choice and value to our partners and customers. This technology partnership with True Performance adds new strengths to both our businesses and we look forward to the opportunities ahead."
