RapidFort adds CrowdStrike integration for Kubernetes

RapidFort has introduced an integration with CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security aimed at joint customers running Kubernetes environments.
The integration lets RapidFort ingest vulnerability and software bill of materials data from Falcon Cloud Security and use it to automate container image hardening. It is intended to help users identify, prioritise and remediate container vulnerabilities across Kubernetes deployments.
Security teams managing containerised workloads face growing pressure to close vulnerabilities more quickly as the gap between CVE disclosure and potential exploitation narrows. In Kubernetes environments, that burden is often compounded by inherited weaknesses in open-source base images and software packages beneath application code.
RapidFort says its system hardens container images by removing unnecessary components and addressing identified vulnerabilities without requiring changes to application code. The process is informed by runtime profiling and a curated image library.
CrowdStrike's role in the integration is to supply the vulnerability findings and software inventory data that RapidFort uses in remediation workflows. The partnership sits in a segment of the cloud security market where vendors are trying to connect detection and prioritisation tools more directly with remediation.
Container focus
The announcement reflects the continuing focus on software supply chain security, particularly in cloud-native infrastructure. Containers have become a common way to package and deploy software, but their layered design can leave organisations managing large numbers of inherited vulnerabilities even when their own applications have not changed.
That has pushed security vendors to offer tools that do more than flag issues. Many customers want systems that can reduce the volume of vulnerabilities in images before software reaches production while limiting disruption to development teams.
RapidFort says the integration fits into that workflow by using findings from Falcon Cloud Security as an input for image hardening. Customers can use the setup to move from identifying risks to reducing them across large Kubernetes estates.
George Manuelian, CSO at RapidFort, outlined the company's view of the challenge facing security teams. "Our integration with CrowdStrike brings RapidFort automated image hardening into the vulnerability management workflow, helping joint customers move faster from identifying risk to reducing it. RapidFort customers have reduced CVEs by up to 99.9% with our hardening technology, without requiring changes to application code."
RapidFort also pointed to uses in environments with tighter security and compliance requirements. It says its offering supports hardened container images, compliance reporting and deployment in restricted and air-gapped settings, including Department of Defence environments.
Market backdrop
The move comes as software supply chain security remains a priority for companies adopting cloud-native applications and AI tools. A broader pool of open-source components, more frequent updates and faster disclosure cycles have made it harder for security teams to keep up with remediation using manual processes alone.
In practice, many organisations rely on scanners to find weaknesses in images and repositories, but still need separate tools or engineering work to rebuild and redeploy safer versions. Integrations between vulnerability management products and image hardening platforms aim to shorten that process.
For CrowdStrike, the integration extends Falcon Cloud Security into a workflow that goes beyond detection and posture management. For RapidFort, it offers access to customers already using Falcon Cloud Security to monitor cloud and container risks.
