SC Codeworks launches AI-native logistics platform

SC Codeworks has launched Codeworks Integrate, an AI-native integration platform for warehouse and supply chain systems intended to simplify connections between applications used across logistics operations.

The platform provides a central integration layer linking enterprise resource planning, warehouse management, transportation management, eCommerce and trading partner systems. It supports APIs, SFTP and EDI, and translates data between standards including X12, EDIFACT, IDoc, XML and JSON.

The launch comes as warehouse operators and third-party logistics groups contend with a growing mix of software for inventory, transport, order management and online sales. Those systems often use different protocols and formats, leaving technology teams to maintain a patchwork of custom connections between internal platforms and external partners.

Codeworks Integrate is designed to replace point-to-point links with a single layer that works with existing systems rather than requiring a broader redesign. The platform is available as a standalone product or as part of SC Codeworks' wider software portfolio.

Artificial intelligence is built into the integration process. According to SC Codeworks, the software can help draft trading partner onboarding, suggest data mappings and turn technical transaction errors into plain-language explanations for staff investigating problems, while leaving final deployment decisions to human review.

For warehouse operators, integration problems can quickly extend beyond the IT department. A customer order may pass through several systems before stock is allocated, work reaches the warehouse floor, transport is arranged and shipment information is returned to the customer.

If one of those connections fails, staff may have to trace transactions manually or correct data before operations can continue. The problem can become more acute when businesses introduce newer software internally while customers, suppliers or trading partners continue to use older systems and established EDI processes.

Operational focus

SC Codeworks is positioning the new platform around its experience in warehouse operations and supply chain workflows. That background, it said, shaped how the software handles customer onboarding, EDI requirements and day-to-day logistics processes.

"Most integration platforms still require specialists to manually configure every connection. We built Codeworks Integrate to reduce that effort by putting AI directly into the integration process. It helps teams create connections faster, understand issues more clearly and keep critical business systems communicating without forcing them to redesign the technology they already rely on," said Suresh Chappidi, Chief Executive Officer, SC Codeworks.

Alongside AI-assisted configuration, the company outlined functions including support for multiple communication methods, automated data translation, and round-the-clock monitoring and support. It said the product is aimed at organisations connecting new customers, updating warehouse systems or extending their trading partner networks.

Warehouses and 3PL providers often face different document specifications and technical requirements from each customer they serve. That can make onboarding new customers dependent on integration work before operations begin, while also adding maintenance demands when an existing partner changes requirements.

Broader stack

SC Codeworks, based in Columbus, offers several warehouse management system products and consulting services for logistics companies. Its portfolio includes Codeworks Essentials and Codeworks Enterprise, alongside other software intended to support warehouse decision-making and operations.

The integration platform can sit alongside those products but does not have to be bought as part of a broader package. That gives SC Codeworks a route into customers that want integration software without replacing existing warehouse management tools.

Amy Dean, Vice President of Operations at SC Codeworks, linked the launch to pressure on operators to connect newer systems with older technology while keeping business data moving between customers, suppliers and internal teams.
