Sectigo has launched Quantum Ready, marking its entry into the Quantum Security Posture Management market.

The product is designed to help enterprises find and map cryptographic assets and dependencies across their environments, assess exposure to post-quantum cryptography risk, and decide which migration tasks to prioritise.

Sectigo is positioning the release around a problem facing large organisations as governments, standards bodies, and major technology providers step up post-quantum cryptography migration efforts. For many IT teams, the immediate challenge is not replacing cryptography but identifying where older or vulnerable cryptographic assets are embedded in systems, services, and workflows.

Quantum Ready creates a Cryptographic Bill of Materials, giving customers a view of where cryptography is used, which systems depend on it, and where quantum-related exposure may sit. It then evaluates that exposure against business criticality, data sensitivity, dependencies, and migration complexity.

Market move

The launch extends Sectigo's activities beyond certificate lifecycle management into the newer category of Quantum Security Posture Management, or QSPM. Its broader approach combines cryptographic discovery, risk prioritisation, and certificate management to support changes to cryptographic systems over time.

Within that structure, Quantum Ready handles discovery and risk assessment, while Sectigo Certificate Manager is intended to provide the automation and orchestration needed to carry out cryptographic changes at scale. Sectigo describes the model in three stages: discover, plan, and manage.

The need for an ongoing process is growing as cryptography standards shift and enterprise systems become harder to track. That reflects a wider debate in cybersecurity over how companies should prepare for the eventual impact of quantum computing on existing encryption methods.

Operational focus

Ian Hassard outlined the operational issues businesses face as they move from discussion to implementation.

"The industry is moving beyond conversations about algorithms and toward the operational challenge of managing PQC readiness at enterprise scale. The hardest part of that transition is knowing where cryptography lives, what depends on it, and how to change it without disrupting the business," said Ian Hassard, Chief Product Officer, Sectigo.

He added: "As organisations move from awareness to action in their quantum journey, they need more than guidance alone. Sectigo Quantum Ready gives enterprises the visibility, context, and evidence needed to build a prioritised action plan for post-quantum readiness."

Sectigo is presenting the product as a way to move customers from one-off reviews to continuous monitoring and planning. That is likely to appeal most to large organisations with sprawling IT estates, where certificates, encryption libraries, and machine identities are distributed across on-premises systems, cloud services, and third-party software.

More than 700,000 customers use Sectigo's products, including 65% of the Fortune 500, according to the company. That installed base gives it an existing route into enterprises already dealing with certificate renewals, shorter certificate lifespans, and the risk of outages linked to unmanaged certificates.

Broader strategy

Kevin Weiss said the launch builds on the company's earlier work in post-quantum cryptography.

"Entering the Quantum Security Posture Management space is a natural next step for Sectigo and a natural evolution of our leadership in digital trust," said Kevin Weiss, Chief Executive Officer, Sectigo.

He continued: "We have been building toward this position for some time through practical innovations such as Sectigo PQC Labs and Private PQC in Sectigo Certificate Manager. As market attention around PQC and crypto agility accelerates, we are expanding that vision to help define how organisations approach continuous quantum readiness and long-term crypto agility. Sectigo Quantum Ready is a clear example of Simplicity at Scale in action. As cryptographic environments become increasingly complex, the way forward needs to remain simple."

The arrival of Quantum Ready places Sectigo among vendors trying to establish tools and processes for a market that is still taking shape. While the timetable for full-scale quantum threats remains uncertain, pressure is increasing to inventory cryptographic assets and begin migration planning as organisations weigh how long it could take to update critical systems.

For many businesses, the practical issue is less about a single switch to new algorithms and more about maintaining an accurate picture of where cryptography sits across the estate. Sectigo's pitch is that this visibility, combined with risk ranking and certificate management, can give security teams a structured way to prepare for post-quantum change.
