Seeing Machines partners with Mitsubishi Electric America

Today

Seeing Machines, headquartered in Canberra, has entered into a referral partnership with Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America (MEAA) to promote its Guardian Generation 3 driver monitoring system across The Americas.

The agreement allows Seeing Machines to leverage MEAA's extensive aftermarket distribution network and customer base, focusing on the large telematics and connected vehicle market in the region. The collaboration aims to boost sales of the recently launched AI-powered Guardian Generation 3, which is designed to enhance driver and road safety.

MEAA, a US affiliate of Mitsubishi Electric Mobility, is noted for its leadership in the production, marketing, and sales of electrical and electronic equipment, with a strong presence in the transport sector. The partnership will help Seeing Machines to access operators controlling over 1,000,000 vehicles, presenting a significant market opportunity for the company.

Seeing Machines will utilise its US-based sales team to support MEAA's efforts throughout The Americas. As business opportunities develop, MEAA will provide Seeing Machines with qualified leads, which the company will directly pursue. This collaboration aims to reduce the typically long sales lead times associated with such complex products.

Masahiro Kaji, President & CEO of Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, stated, "MEAA has supplied our solutions to commercial vehicles across The Americas for over 20 years. We are excited to leverage our large customer base to accelerate installations of Guardian Generation 3 and we believe ultimately protect more drivers from the risks associated with distraction and drowsiness. I am delighted to see MEAA play such an integral role in the collaboration between Seeing Machines and Mitsubishi Electric Mobility Corporation and on a personal note, I am proud to be working on this project with my team. We are very motivated to succeed and make a meaningful impact on our communities as we believe the more Guardian units we sell, the safer our roads will be for everyone."

Seeing Machines' CEO, Paul McGlone, commented on the collaboration, "Further to the recent collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric Mobility Corporation, we have commenced work to rapidly develop and expand our respective businesses. While there is a strong focus on Automotive in Japan, the Aftermarket opportunity that we are pursuing together with Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, Inc., is immediate, material and strategic for our business. The Americas present an incredibly large and important market for driver safety technology and having intimate customer insights and existing relationships to leverage will be critical to the successful positioning and acceptance of our class-leading Guardian solution."

The partnership comes as part of Seeing Machines' efforts to expand its reach in the driver safety technology market, capitalising on its expertise in vision-based monitoring systems. The cooperation with Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America is expected to enhance market penetration and accelerate the adoption of the Guardian Generation 3 system across The Americas.
