Semarchy launches flexible Data Platform with AI & DataOps focus

Today

Semarchy has introduced the Semarchy Data Platform (SDP), a unified and flexible data management solution aimed at giving enterprises greater control over their data operations and moving away from vendor lock-in.

The new platform brings together data management, governance, and integration within a single system, using DataOps methodologies to support the creation and delivery of reliable data products throughout an organisation.

DataOps approach

The Semarchy Data Platform offers native DataOps capabilities, designed to meet the growing organisational need for trusted and scalable data products, particularly as demand increases for AI-ready data in the enterprise sector. The SDP integrates with a range of widely used tools including Visual Studio Code, Git, and standard CI/CD toolchains. This allows data teams to work with tools they are already familiar with, encouraging faster adoption and efficient deployment.

SDP covers the full lifecycle of data products and includes developer-ready APIs, workflows for data stewards, end-user data applications, and features such as data lineage, classification, and badging. These features aim to facilitate collaboration and self-service data discovery across business units.

Native artificial intelligence capabilities form a central part of the platform. With Copilot AI, the platform can automate complex data engineering processes, converting user prompts directly into functional data products in minutes. Embedded generative AI tools also assist data stewards in classifying and enriching data, while built-in approval workflows maintain oversight and transparency.

Flexible deployment options

The platform supports multiple deployment models, including SaaS, private cloud, and integrations with data ecosystem providers such as Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric. Semarchy prioritises flexibility, allowing organisations to select solutions that align best with their needs and future growth, while aiming to remove technology silos.

Ben Werth, Chief Executive Officer at Semarchy, said:

SDP is the first data platform purpose-built for today's accelerating data and AI demands. It enables collaboration, automation, and acceleration across every team that manages, creates, or consumes data.

Discussing the evolving requirements of modern data management, Werth continued:

Trusted data is table stakes. It's the foundation for every strategic data solution that our customers have built. But today, trust alone isn't enough. SDP is the necessary evolution of MDM to deliver data as a product at the scale and velocity required to compete in the AI era. Enterprises need to evolve their data operating models and processes to leverage the same toolkits used for modern software development for a true DataOps approach.

Stewart Bond, Vice President of Data Intelligence and Integration Software Research at IDC, commented on SDP's market positioning:

Organisations are under intense pressure to deliver trusted, AI-ready data at scale, while enabling business and IT teams to collaborate more effectively. Semarchy's new Data Platform extends its MDM capabilities into a modern, AI-driven platform built for DataOps. By unifying foundational data management capabilities, augmented with AI and flexible deployment options, Semarchy is helping enterprises accelerate the delivery of data products, reduce risk in AI initiatives, and unlock greater value from their data investments.

Core design principles

The Semarchy Data Platform is constructed on three primary principles. The first is the delivery of value through comprehensive data products, including AI-ready data, developer APIs, workflows for data stewards, and end-user applications. The second is a unified design experience that naturally integrates with established DataOps tools and workflows, and the third principle is the use of agentic design and generative AI to automate complex data engineering and stewardship, improving speed and productivity.

Craig Gravina, Chief Technology Officer at Semarchy, explained:

The new Semarchy Data Platform helps enterprises address the massive growth in the volume of data initiatives as well as the demand for quality, AI-ready data while also ensuring an emphasis on delivering value to the business.

Gravina elaborated on the market needs addressed by SDP:

Today's businesses require the delivery of data products at scale, traditional data management platforms fail to keep pace and lack the rich capabilities needed across data consumers, application development teams, and AI initiatives. SDP introduces the industry's first agentic DataOps-driven experience to help enterprises meet these evolving data demands.

Availability

The Semarchy Data Platform is available now. The platform aims to address the needs of decentralised, enterprise-scale teams faced with increasingly complex data requirements, by offering a converged data management solution built on DataOps and AI-driven principles.
