Tempo launches modular SPM solutions to boost adaptability

Wed, 8th Oct 2025

Tempo Software has announced the launch of Collections, a modular set of solutions designed to simplify how organisations initiate and scale their Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) journey.

Collections represent a suite of offerings within Tempo's Adaptive SPM platform, designed to help teams achieve greater clarity, alignment, and faster time-to-value, while preparing for broader SPM adoption. The approach leverages modularity, allowing organisations to adopt tools relevant to their current needs before scaling into broader SPM capabilities.

Organisational challenges

Vic Chynoweth, Chief Executive Officer of Tempo, addressed some of the challenges organisations typically face: disconnected tools and outdated planning processes, which can lead to misalignment, wasted resources, and underperformance.

"Organisations are struggling with disconnected tools and outdated planning processes that can't keep up with the pace of change - leading to misalignment, wasted resources, unrealised ROI, and compromised outcomes. With Collections, teams can address those challenges immediately while building toward continuous, intelligent portfolio management. SPM realisation is a journey, not a one-time project - and this is the on-ramp."

The launch underpins Tempo's philosophy that SPM should not be viewed as a singular project, but rather as an iterative transformation.

Adaptive approaches

Chynoweth also described a shift occurring in the area of portfolio management, highlighting the growing importance of adaptability for enterprise survival.

"The organisations that thrive in the next decade won't be the ones with the best plans, but the ones that can adapt their plans faster than their environment changes. The age of static planning is over. The age of Adaptive SPM has begun."

Tempo's Adaptive SPM platform is designed to support organisations at any stage, combining modular feature adoption with AI-powered analytics to help teams remain aligned, manage risk, and consistently link organisational strategy to operational outcomes. It is positioned as a flexible alternative to more traditional, rigid SPM tools.

Overview of Collections

The Collections suite comprises four main groups. The Project Collection encompasses tools such as Timesheets, Financial Manager, and Capacity Planner, enabling leaders to analyse time allocation and its value. According to the company, this can deliver a return on investment within weeks, sometimes even days.

The Programme Collection introduces capabilities such as Structure, Gantt, Capacity Planner, and Custom Charts, aiming to improve governance and visibility for programmes that span multiple teams and complex dependencies. The Portfolio Collection leverages business intelligence (BI) Connectors and Custom Charts to transform organisational data into actionable insights through real-time dashboards, supporting faster investment decisions.

The Strategy Collection offers a comprehensive suite for enterprise transformation, aligning operational decisions and workflows with broader strategic objectives.

Each Collection is designed to address distinct organisational needs, aiming to provide immediate solutions and a pathway to more advanced SPM practices.

New platform enhancements

Alongside the introduction of Collections, Tempo has announced enhancements across its existing platform. New features include unified navigation to streamline app workflows inside Jira and upgrades across Timesheets and Financial Manager modules. These upgrades include support for future timesheet submissions, compliance-focused APIs, and standalone installation options.

Custom Charts and BI Connectors now offer live BI synchronisation and, in future releases, public dashboard sharing options, intended to broaden access to insights across teams. Additionally, Tempo has expanded its suite of Rovo AI Agents, natural-language assistants designed to simplify reporting, analysis, and system configuration within Jira, with a total of seven agents now available.

These cumulative enhancements are presented as part of Tempo's broader mission to make strategic portfolio management more accessible and adaptable for organisations dealing with rapidly changing environments.
