Tenable appoints Matthew Brown as new CFO amid leadership shift
Tenable has announced the appointment of Matthew Brown as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.
Matthew Brown succeeds Steve Vintz, who has recently transitioned to a joint Co-Chief Executive Officer role at the company alongside Mark Thurmond.
Brown brings more than twenty years of experience in the technology sector and has served in a number of senior finance roles at technology companies. Most recently, he was the Chief Financial Officer at Altair Engineering, where he contributed to the company's strategic direction, revenue growth, and margin expansion.
During his time at Altair Engineering, Brown was credited with helping deliver consistent double-digit growth in software revenues.
He ultimately played a role in the company's sale to Siemens for USD $10.7 billion.
Earlier in his career, Brown held financial leadership roles at organisations including NortonLifeLock, Symantec, Blue Coat, Brocade, NETGEAR, and KPMG. His responsibilities across these posts ranged from strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions to investor relations and operational excellence.
Leadership perspectives
"Matt brings a proven track record of scaling global technology businesses, delivering operational efficiency, and driving shareholder value," said Steve Vintz, Co-CEO, Tenable. "His strategic mindset, deep financial expertise, and collaborative leadership style make him the ideal partner to help Tenable accelerate growth and achieve our long-term vision."
Brown also commented on his new role and the direction of the company.
"Tenable is in a prime position to lead the future of exposure management, and I couldn't be more excited to join this remarkable team," said Matthew Brown. "The opportunity to pair Tenable's market leadership with bold financial strategy is incredibly energising, and I'm ready to help propel the company to its next chapter of growth."
Qualifications and background
Matthew Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant in California.
Brown's appointment forms part of a leadership restructure at Tenable, following Steve Vintz's appointment as Co-Chief Executive Officer.
