UiPath launches free AI automation training for public sector

Today

UiPath has launched a free training programme designed to equip public sector professionals with agentic automation and AI skills as government workforces adapt to new technologies and shifting job requirements.

The Upskill to Agentic Automation initiative, now accessible via UiPath Community and Academy, is targeted at public sector workers who have faced layoffs or are seeking skills to prepare for changes in the workplace driven by agentic AI. Agentic automation enables digital agents to operate autonomously, make decisions, and act independently for users, and its growing use is reshaping public sector employment.

The Upskill to Agentic Automation programme offers specialised learning tracks tailored to the needs of public sector staff. The training includes hands-on courses, real-world scenarios, and the integration of agentic AI elements to help participants design, manage, and collaborate with autonomous systems.

Participants benefit from community support systems featuring live virtual sessions led by practitioners, guidance from mentors and peers through the UiPath Forum, and opportunities to shadow professionals demonstrating best practices in automation. The programme also provides mechanisms for tracking progress and knowledge mastery, reflecting the priorities cited by government technologists in recent assessments of learning platforms.

Feedback from these evaluations identified expert-created content, interactive community support, and clear methods for evaluating knowledge as the most valued features: 44% valued content from industry experts, 41% emphasised forums or community support, and 38% prioritised tracking knowledge mastery.

Upon completing learning tracks, participants receive credentials verifying their automation skills and are offered practice opportunities for certification exams, including free online practice tests and expert insights. Free or discounted certification opportunities are available, helping participants demonstrate their skills to employers and supporting career progression as automation's role in government evolves.

Chris Radich, Public Sector Chief Technology Officer at UiPath, commented, "UiPath is committed to investing in the future workforce through UiPath Academy and UiPath Community. In these unprecedented times, the Upskill to Agentic Automation programme offers public sector professionals with an opportunity to reskill through educational opportunities and training. This programme furthers UiPath's commitment to upskilling and empowering professionals with the in-demand agentic automation skills to succeed in newly emerging careers and remain competitive in their roles."

UiPath has partnered with companies including Boundaryless, Greenlight Consulting and The Next Innings to offer expanded learning and career development as part of the programme. These partnerships involve delivering trainings, providing mentorship, and supporting career growth for participants.

Erik Gillet, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Boundaryless Group, stated, "At Boundaryless, our mission is to improve lives through automation - especially by empowering those who dedicate their careers to serving others. This initiative aligns with our belief that agentic tools make work more meaningful and open new career paths. We are proud to contribute our expertise to help participants build additional skills and find new career opportunities."

Melanie Lam, Director of Innovation at Greenlight Consulting, added, "Greenlight Consulting is proud to support this important workforce development initiative - especially during these times of unexpected displacement and uncertainty. This programme is about opening doors for talented individuals to step into the future of work. AI augmentation and agentic workflow automation are reshaping how we work, empowering people to elevate their thinking, create in ways that weren't possible before, and grow beyond the traditional boundaries of their roles."

UiPath's new training initiative responds to the growing implementation of agentic AI and automation in government, which is anticipated to streamline services, reduce costs, and enhance career prospects for those in the public sector as well as the quality of citizen services.
