Utho Cloud launches migration tools to help Indian firms save costs

Tue, 18th Nov 2025

Utho Cloud has announced enhancements to its platform designed to ease the migration process for Indian companies moving their workloads from foreign cloud providers.

Migration focus

The platform aims to address key pain points for businesses considering a switch from global hyperscalers. Utho Cloud enables companies to migrate from providers such as AWS without requiring changes to their existing architecture, tools, or deployment models. The new offering combines compute, storage, virtual private cloud (VPC), and web application firewall (WAF) within a unified ecosystem.

Data sovereignty

Indian businesses remain concerned about the security and location of their data. Utho Cloud operates data centres in both India and the US, allowing companies to maintain data sovereignty. This focus on in-country storage is a concern for sectors handling sensitive information and operating under local regulations.

Cost efficiency

The company is positioning its offering as a cost-effective alternative, with claims of up to 60% savings compared to other providers. Businesses also receive 24x7 human support and are given control over network and security configurations. The VPC feature, newly rolled out, enables users to manage private cloud networks by defining settings such as IP addresses, routing, subnets, and traffic isolation.

Technical compatibility

Managing compatibility during migration remains a significant challenge for businesses. Utho Cloud's AWS-compatible architecture allows organisations to transfer their workloads between AWS and Utho Cloud without altering their current configurations. The platform supports direct migration from AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, DigitalOcean, and VMware. Automated image conversion and compatibility handling are provided, alongside options for both live and offline migration.

Infrastructure reliability

Utho Cloud's infrastructure leverages a KVM-based hypervisor operating on a distributed architecture and high-availability system. This approach is intended to minimise downtime during both migration and day-to-day operations. The company's migration team offers support for image conversion, configuration mapping, and validation as part of its services.

"Whoever controls the cloud infrastructure will be the one to determine the future of the digital economy," said Manoj Dhanda, Founder and CEO, Utho Cloud. "For Indian companies, depending on foreign hyperscalers only means less power over the data, more expenses, and less agility. Therefore, Utho was created to provide India a secure, scalable, and budget-friendly cloud ecosystem of its own. Our AWS-compatible architecture and VPC ensure that migrations are now faster, easier, and completely under the control of the customer."
