Yesterday

Vultr has announced the deployment of AMD Instinct MI325X GPUs at its Chicago data centre, marking its position as the first cloud provider to offer these GPUs.

The announcement follows Vultr's recent growth valuation at $3.5 billion and an expanded collaboration with AMD to provide AMD Instinct MI300X GPUs and ROCm open software ecosystem. This partnership combines AMD's Instinct GPU capabilities with Vultr's global infrastructure, allowing businesses to build AI-native applications on a scalable and efficient cloud platform.

J.J. Kardwell, Chief Executive Officer of Vultr, stated, "The AMD Instinct MI325X sets new AI industry standards, delivering incredible performance and efficiency for inference. The Instinct MI325X gives our customers priority access to state-of-the-art GPU hardware, empowering them to scale AI deployments in production. Together, we are unlocking new possibilities for AI innovation and shaping the future of cloud GPU infrastructure on a global scale."

As AI models become more complex, optimisation for training and inference is crucial for organisations aiming to expand their AI capabilities. Vultr's latest infrastructure is powered by Supermicro servers equipped with AMD Instinct MI325X GPUs. These GPUs feature 256GB of HBM3E memory and 8 TB/s of memory bandwidth, ensuring robust performance for AI applications.

The GPUs also offer compatibility with the AMD Instinct MI300X and integration with the AMD ROCm open software. This compatibility allows seamless deployment with major AI and high-performance computing frameworks. Customers have access to a variety of tools and frameworks to develop and launch generative AI applications with cost efficiency and high performance.

Negin Oliver, Corporate Vice President of Business Development, Data Center GPU Business Unit at AMD, commented, "Designed for exceptional performance and efficiency, the AMD Instinct MI325X accelerators excel in demanding AI tasks such as foundation model training, fine-tuning, and inferencing. With the addition of the AMD Instinct MI325X, Vultr is empowering businesses with cutting-edge AI technology to harness the necessary computational power and efficiency to drive AI advancement and accelerate growth."

Vultr states the company is on a mission to make high-performance cloud infrastructure easy to use, affordable, and locally accessible for enterprises and AI innovators around the world. Vultr is trusted by hundreds of thousands of active customers across 185 countries for its flexible, scalable, global Cloud Compute, Cloud GPU, Bare Metal, and Cloud Storage solutions. Founded by David Aninowsky and self-funded for over a decade, Vultr has grown to become the world's largest privately held cloud infrastructure company.
