Forward Edge-AI Chief Information Officer Andrea L. Gwynn has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who after a career spanning senior information technology roles in the US federal government and service as a US Army warrant officer.

The listing recognises her IT leadership and military service over roughly three decades, including responsibilities across IT, cybersecurity and enterprise operations at Forward Edge-AI.

Gwynn became CIO in October 2025. She oversees end-user services, including employee access to systems, applications and collaboration tools used across engineering, manufacturing and product production.

Forward Edge-AI provides artificial intelligence products and services, including post-quantum cryptography, data modernisation, and integration and engineering. The company positions this work around secure data workflows and analytics.

Federal career

Before joining Forward Edge-AI, Gwynn spent 25 years in federal service, including a series of roles in the US Army's technology and communications organisations.

From 2023 to 2025, she served as Deputy Chief Information Officer at US Army Futures Command in Austin, Texas, supporting digital transformation efforts.

From 2020 to 2023, she was Director of Information Technology Services (G6) at the same organisation, overseeing infrastructure projects and operational readiness.

Earlier roles included IT integrator with the 106th Signal Brigade in Austin from 2019 to 2020 and Business Operations Branch Chief at the Joint Base San Antonio Network Enterprise Centre from 2018 to 2019.

She began her civilian federal career as an IT specialist at the Fort Hood Network Enterprise Centre from 2010 to 2011.

Military service

Alongside her civilian federal roles, Gwynn served in the US Army as a Chief Warrant Officer Two (251A) from 2001 to 2009. She is a combat veteran with two deployments to Iraq.

During her first deployment, she established IT communications for the First Armoured Division Command, covering servers, networks and in-theatre services, according to the biographical summary.

After leaving federal service, she spent part of 2025 in Killeen, Texas, working as a veteran, writer and advocate focused on veteran empowerment and transition. The work addressed issues former service members face as they move into civilian life.

Training and awards

Gwynn holds a Bachelor of Science in marketing with a concentration in marketing management from Northwood University. She also completed coursework in information technology project management through a certification programme at Villanova University.

She volunteers with Disabled American Veterans, according to the biographical entry.

Her awards include the Women of Colour Rising Star in Technology Award in 2024, as well as the Superior Civilian Service Award and the Civilian Service Achievement Medal from the US Army.

Her military decorations include six Army Achievement Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Defence Meritorious Service Medal and a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, among other honours.

The entry also notes her family's ties to the US armed forces. Her husband is a retired disabled veteran with more than 20 years of US Army service. Their daughter serves in the US Army in Germany, and their son serves in the US Air Force in Washington.

Gwynn plans to continue her education toward a higher degree and is seeking public speaking and mentorship opportunities, particularly for women in technology, veterans and active service members. She has also begun writing a memoir and is pursuing publication.

"Ms. Gwynn credits her success to hard work, dedication, and a passion for her field, along with the enduring guidance and encouragement of her parents."
