AvePoint unveils AgentPulse to tackle AI agent risks & costs
AvePoint has launched the AgentPulse Command Centre, a platform feature designed to give organisations greater visibility and control over AI agents operating within their digital infrastructure. This new service forms part of the company's Confidence Platform and aims to help businesses address the growing security and financial risks associated with the increased deployment of AI agents.
AI agent oversight
The AgentPulse Command Centre acts as an AI agent registry, where all AI agents deployed by an organisation can be tracked from a single point. This is intended to simplify security management and support cost efficiency, as the use of agentic AI systems becomes more widespread. These systems, which act autonomously to perform various business tasks, have prompted concerns about the adequacy of existing IT controls in terms of security and governance.
"As organisations rapidly deploy AI agents to drive productivity, they're discovering that these powerful tools introduce significant security and data governance challenges that legacy IT controls weren't designed to address," said Jeremy Thake, Chief Architect, AvePoint.
Security and compliance
AgentPulse provides organisations with a detailed view into the activity of each AI agent. It identifies which agents are most active, who is accessing them, and what sensitive files or data they can reach. The platform enables quick rectification of instances where there may be overexposure or oversharing of sensitive data by AI agents.
Recent research from AvePoint indicates that 75% of organisations using AI have experienced a data breach in the past year. Additional analysis from Gartner predicts that 40% of agentic AI projects could be abandoned by the end of 2027 due to challenges in implementing robust risk controls. AvePoint's platform is positioned to address these issues by facilitating proactive management of AI agent security risks.
Cost management
Apart from security features, AgentPulse also assists organisations in identifying the financial impact of AI agent activity. By revealing which AI agents are generating frequent interactions or accessing large datasets, companies can assess potential cost drivers, including unexpected software charges or additional data storage requirements.

Expanded governance capabilities
The launch of AgentPulse builds on previous updates to the AvePoint Confidence Platform, targeting AI agent compliance enforcement and risk reduction. The new feature extends governance and monitoring functionality for a range of AI agent environments, including Microsoft 365 Agents Toolkit, Copilot Studio, SharePoint, Azure AI Foundry, and ISV Store, among others. AgentPulse is currently being made available to a limited set of customers for private preview.
