Choctaw Nation adopts Oracle AI to streamline services & preserve language

Thu, 16th Oct 2025

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma has adopted Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications and embedded artificial intelligence solutions to drive operational efficiency, automate business processes, and support the preservation of the Choctaw language.

The Choctaw Nation, with more than 250,000 registered tribal members, maintains a diverse portfolio of operations spanning casinos, resort hotels, restaurants, healthcare facilities, and agricultural activities. Over 13,000 full-time associates deliver nearly 150 programmes in education, healthcare, housing, and other critical services to members.

With its expanding footprint and variety of services, the Choctaw Nation identified a requirement to streamline business processes. The deployment of Oracle Fusion Applications is enabling improvements in efficiency, automation of core human resources and financial processes, and enhancement of the employee experience through integrated AI capabilities.

Leaders' perspectives

"For sovereign nations, leadership means planning for future generations. Embracing AI is key to building a strong foundation that supports our values, drives economic growth, and secures our long-term success," said Emily Crow, IT Director of Enterprise Services, Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. "With Oracle Fusion Applications, we've been able to automate key business processes, improve insights, and help grow the next generation of leaders. We've already adopted over 40 generative AI capabilities and look forward to leveraging more of Oracle's AI agents and the AI Agent Studio to better support our people and improve operational efficiency as we continue to expand."

Steve Miranda, Executive Vice President of Applications Development at Oracle, highlighted the complexities faced by tribes operating across diverse sectors while navigating unique regulatory requirements.

"With broad and complex operations, it's often challenging for tribal nations to oversee business and workforce data across multiple industries while also meeting unique regulatory requirements," said Steve Miranda, Executive Vice President of Applications Development, Oracle. "With Oracle Fusion Applications, the Choctaw Nation has been able to take advantage of advanced AI capabilities to increase productivity, streamline critical business processes, cultivate the next generation of leaders, and set the stage for a future of innovation and growth."

Automated HR and financial functions

Embedded AI in Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management is helping the Choctaw Nation automate manual HR tasks and generate actionable workforce insights. The use of AI-powered features, such as the Learning and Training Advisor Agent, Oracle Grow, and Oracle Dynamic Skills, assists employees in identifying relevant skills and learning pathways, aligning with both current roles and potential future ambitions. The ability to facilitate broader and more effective career growth conversations across the organisation has led to time savings and an improved employee experience.

In finance, Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning has contributed to increased productivity, lower costs, and improved financial controls. The automation of invoice processing is a key aspect, with further plans to incorporate predictive cash forecasting, narrative reporting, and Oracle's virtual credit card in partnership with J.P. Morgan Chase to streamline invoice payments for business-to-business transactions. The integration with Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing also strengthens inventory management capabilities.

Language preservation

In addition to its business applications, the Choctaw Nation is employing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's Generative AI services to support the preservation of the Choctaw language. With fewer than 300 first-language speakers remaining, the development of a Choctaw language translation model is seen as a significant step in maintaining linguistic and cultural heritage.

The Choctaw Nation's continued adoption and expansion of AI capabilities is aimed at supporting operational efficiency and equipping employees and tribal leadership with insights necessary for ongoing growth and community service delivery.
