Findustry AI and Maverick Payments have partnered to add Chargeback Agent to the Maverick platform. The product automates chargeback dispute handling for merchants using Maverick's payments system.

The integration embeds Chargeback Agent into Maverick's white-label unified payments platform and proprietary gateway, giving partners an automated workflow from evidence collection to dispute submission. Merchants can activate the service within the same platform they already use to process payments.

The deal targets a growing problem for merchants as card disputes continue to rise. Figures cited from Juniper Research show that cardholders in the US initiated 158 million disputes in 2025, up 29% from 2021, while global disputes rose 46% over the same period.

Merchants often lose disputes because chargeback cases depend on assembling the right evidence, meeting card network rules and responding within required timeframes. For many small and mid-sized businesses, the process remains labour-intensive and difficult to manage without specialist staff.

Findustry AI said its software is designed to handle the full workflow after a chargeback is filed. It collects data from merchant systems, interprets the relevant network requirements for each reason code, prepares a rebuttal and submits the response automatically.

The company said Chargeback Agent users have recovered more than three times as much as before and cut handling time for complex cases from hours to minutes or even seconds. Maverick's customer base includes ISOs, ISVs, financial institutions and merchants operating in higher-risk sectors where chargebacks can be a recurring cost.

Rising pressure

Chargebacks have become a broader issue across payments as merchants face pressure not only from fraud and customer disputes, but also from the administrative burden of contesting claims. Providers serving sectors with elevated dispute rates have sought to build dispute management more directly into payment platforms rather than rely on separate specialist tools.

That shift reflects a wider push in financial technology to embed workflow tools into the systems merchants already use. In this case, Maverick is adding a dispute product it can offer through its existing partner network, while Findustry AI gains access to a distribution channel among payment intermediaries and merchant service providers.

Jonathan Razi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Findustry AI, set out the company's view of the existing market for dispute software.

"The chargebacks space has always had tools, but merchants generally needed an expert employee to operate them-meaning legacy tools were a better fit for a large merchant with a dedicated payments team. Our vision for Chargeback Agent is to empower merchants of all sizes with an AI payments employee. Like a good coworker, our AI agent will decide which cases to fight, which to automate and which to surface for you to quickly review. We're proud to partner with Maverick to help their customers and partners not only increase win rates, but also eliminate complexity," said Razi.

Maverick presented the addition as a way for its partners to expand what they offer merchants beyond transaction processing alone. That is particularly relevant for acquirers, software providers and channel partners trying to deepen merchant relationships in a crowded payments market.

Guy DiMaggio, Senior Vice President, Operations and Strategy Operations, Maverick Payments, said the product also creates a new source of recurring revenue for partners.

"Our partners succeed when they bring meaningful business solutions to merchants, not just payment processing. For many of the high-risk verticals we serve, chargebacks represent a significant operational and financial burden. Chargeback Agent helps address that challenge with AI-powered automation, while giving our partners a differentiated offering that strengthens merchant relationships and creates new recurring revenue streams," said DiMaggio.

Broader strategy

For Findustry AI, the partnership fits a strategy focused on payments-specific software rather than general business automation. The company says it builds AI agents for payment workflows, including products for dispute resolution and payment data analysis. It was founded by Razi, who previously founded CardX.

Maverick, established in 2012, operates as a privately owned payments provider with a white-label infrastructure spanning multiple processors and banks. It manages the merchant lifecycle in-house and serves partners that support a range of merchant risk profiles.

The addition of chargeback automation to Maverick's platform highlights how payment providers are trying to keep more operational tools within their own ecosystems. As dispute volumes climb, the ability to contest chargebacks quickly and with less manual work has become a more visible part of the merchant payments business.

Chargeback Agent is now available to merchants and partners on the Maverick Payments platform.
