Further boosts AI governance with new AIGP cohort

Further said more than 15 of its employees have received the Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

The Cleveland-based data, cloud and AI company said it expects to expand the number of certified staff across the organisation. The certification, known as AIGP, focuses on AI governance. Further said around 2,000 people worldwide hold the credential.

Further positioned the move as part of its responsible AI approach. The company also linked the certification to customer work in regulated industries.

Governance focus

The company cited public concern about AI adoption and the issues executives raise when deploying AI systems. It cited Pew Research Centre data that found 50% of Americans are more concerned than excited about the increased use of AI in daily life.

Further said business leaders place emphasis on accuracy, regulatory compliance and cybersecurity when AI becomes more widespread. It said trust remains a major obstacle when companies try to move from pilot projects to production deployments.

"Too often, AI governance is seen as a blocker to innovation, when in reality, it's the key to scaling AI successfully," said Cal Al-Dhubaib, Head of AI & Data Science, Further. Further said it is developing AI governance solutions for clients. The company described the work as a service that maintains trust. It said the offering will include tools and frameworks for AI governance. It also said the approach will address ethical and responsible AI practices.

The company also pointed to demand from regulated sectors. It said its AIGP-certified employees give it a differentiator in heavily regulated environments. Further said that expertise covers governance and compliance in settings with strict regulatory standards.

Further also referred to work on so-called agentic AI. The company said it can assist clients in developing agentic AI while ensuring compliance.

The company said it had issued additional announcements and awards related to its AI work. It cited AI-driven tools for Behr and Pennzoil. It also cited an AI Excellence Award for its Presence Score Solution. Further also cited a BIG Award for Business connected to work with Behr on ChatHUE.

Further said it plans to broaden AIGP training across the organisation as it develops its AI governance solutions for clients.
