Passpack launches iOS app & Chrome password extension

Passpack has launched an iOS app and a Chrome extension for its password management service, expanding access from desktop use to mobile phones and web browsers.
Both products connect to the same encrypted vault, allowing employees to retrieve saved credentials away from their desks or while working in a browser. The launch targets small and mid-sized businesses that want staff to access and share passwords without resorting to text messages, notes apps, spreadsheets or chat threads.
The iOS app is aimed at staff who need credentials while travelling, moving between meetings or working remotely. It is intended to keep password access under central oversight while reducing the use of informal workarounds when desktop-only access is unavailable.
The Chrome extension focuses on day-to-day logins in the browser. It autofills saved credentials, captures new ones when accounts are created and flags login pages that appear unsafe.
That browser feature addresses a wider security concern as phishing activity grows more convincing and easier to produce. Passpack linked the launch to rising credential theft and to attackers using artificial intelligence to run phishing campaigns and test stolen logins across large numbers of accounts.
A commonly cited benchmark from Verizon's 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report found stolen credentials appeared in 39% of breaches when counted at any point in an attack, making it the most common technique in the report's dataset.
Passpack is also positioning the products around employee adoption, a long-running issue in password management. Rather than asking workers to switch repeatedly between tools or retype passwords manually, it aims to place password access where staff already work: on phones and inside browser sessions.
Chris Skipworth, Chief Executive Officer of Passpack, said the products were built around ease of use as much as security.
"Password managers have a reputation for being finicky, and that reputation keeps a lot of people from ever adopting one," Skipworth said. "We built the app and the extension around a simple idea. Security works better when it fits naturally into how people already work. The mobile app frees credentials from the desk, and the browser extension takes the friction out of daily logins while adding protection where they're entered. When secure access is the easiest option, better habits follow."
Credential habits
Both the app and the extension include secure sharing for shared accounts, which should reduce the number of passwords passed around in email, chat or spreadsheets. Shared credentials remain a persistent operational issue for smaller businesses, where teams often rely on common logins for software subscriptions, social media accounts and supplier portals.
Industry guidance has increasingly moved toward tools that reduce manual handling of passwords. Passpack pointed to digital identity guidance from the US National Institute of Standards and Technology, which identifies password managers and autofill as practical ways to improve password practices.
That matters because phishing attacks often depend on persuading users to type credentials into fake login forms or to reuse passwords across multiple services. Browser-based autofill and warnings on suspicious pages are intended to reduce those openings, though their effectiveness still depends on employees using the tool consistently.
Platform rollout
The iOS app is available now through Apple's App Store, while the browser extension has launched for Chrome. An Android version is due next, followed by versions for Firefox and Microsoft Edge.
Based in Salt Lake City, Passpack sells password management and credential-sharing software to business users. Its service uses a zero-knowledge design, meaning customer vault data is encrypted in a way that prevents the provider from viewing stored passwords.
The launch comes as password managers face a mixed market environment. Businesses remain under pressure to tighten access controls, but security teams also need products that staff will actually use in daily work. For smaller companies in particular, where formal identity systems can be limited, mobile and browser access often become the point where security policy meets employee behaviour.
