ProGlove unveils MAI, an AI wearable for warehouses
ProGlove has introduced MAI, an AI-powered wearable device, designed to address the evolving demands of warehouses by enhancing productivity while reducing physical strain on workers.
According to the company, the global workforce is expected to see an increase of 150 million workers over the age of 55 by 2030, emphasising the need for businesses to adapt. Stefan Lampa, Chief Executive Officer of ProGlove, highlighted the significance of evolving workforce dynamics.
"The world's workforce is changing. People are working longer, and they need better tools to help them do their jobs safely and efficiently," he stated. "MAI is a future-ready solution that evolves alongside the workforce - it is designed to empower workers, helping them move faster, make fewer mistakes, and stay engaged in their roles. By combining real-time communication with wearable intelligence, we are setting a new standard for smart, human-centric technology in industrial environments, while helping businesses meet the challenges of tomorrow, today."
MAI aims to improve productivity by providing real-time guidance, hands-free communication, and streamlined documentation through photo and audio reporting. Its ability to integrate with warehouse management systems is expected to provide managers with actionable insights, optimising workflow and decision-making processes.
The device's design focuses on ergonomics, being notably lightweight at 65 grams and compact with a height of 21 millimetres. It is built to endure rigorous industrial environments with its IP65-rated durability and full-shift battery life. MAI's glove-compatible touchscreen enables seamless use, further enhancing worker efficiency and comfort.
Lampa underscored the device's intent to support both current and future workforce requirements. "ProGlove's vision extends beyond simply improving today's warehouse operations. We understand that the future of work is not just about automation, it is about creating human-centric solutions that allow businesses to retain skilled employees, adapt to an aging workforce, and ensure a more sustainable future for industrial labor. Unlike static hardware solutions, MAI is enabled for future software updates, allowing businesses to evolve their operations in response to shifting workforce dynamics and technological advancements."
The industry is witnessing a shift from traditional mobile terminals and handheld scanners towards more advanced wearable technology like MAI. Designed to reduce delays and minimise worker strain, the device offers step-by-step instructions and task alerts through audio, haptics, and LED feedback, ensuring efficiency in task completion.
ProGlove's MAI is set to be featured at several forthcoming industry events, allowing potential users to experience its functionality firsthand. Emphasising the tool's efficiency, the company believes that adopting such technology will be instrumental in addressing ongoing labour shortages while keeping skilled workers active and engaged in the workforce for longer periods.
