Versa achieves FedRAMP High for secure federal cloud access
Versa has announced that its Unified Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) products have achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Programme (FedRAMP) Ready status at the High Impact level.
This designation signifies that Versa's Unified SASE offering has met rigorous federal security standards, and is now positioned for full operation and authorisation within secure government clouds. As a result, federal agencies can deploy the same cloud-delivered, consolidated security stack previously limited to the commercial sector. Versa is now able to provide protection for highly sensitive unclassified data, qualifying as a mission-ready federal partner supporting agencies in achieving Zero Trust and cloud modernisation targets.
The FedRAMP High Ready status expands Versa's capabilities in the public sector. Agencies managing systems where loss of confidentiality, integrity or availability could have extreme or catastrophic effects on operations, security or individuals are now able to deploy VersaONE Unified SASE. Versa's platform integrates AI-powered SASE architecture and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) to deliver secure, policy-driven access to applications and data. This coverage spans cloud, data centre, edge, and tactical environments, all managed through a single platform designed to safeguard vital national digital infrastructure.
"Achieving FedRAMP High Ready status demonstrates Versa's steadfast commitment to providing the highest levels of security for U.S. Federal agencies and organizations handling mission-critical and sensitive data," said Kelly Ahuja, CEO of Versa. "FedRAMP Ready represents another important step in building the most secure cloud platform available to support and protect how federal agencies, government contractors, and commercial enterprises work today. We are proud to have the opportunity to provide government agencies and organizations with trusted, secure, and innovative cloud-ready solutions that help modernize their secure access and accelerate their missions."
The United States federal government, including the Department of Defence (DoD), has set a target to reach full Zero Trust implementation by the end of the 2027 fiscal year. This initiative is part of a broader shift towards a "never trust, always verify" cybersecurity framework, moving away from traditional boundary security and towards a data-centric method with rigorous controls protecting information and users against complex threats.
Versa's platform supports federal agencies in reaching the 2027 Zero Trust requirements by consolidating networking and security in a single solution. Features include continuous authentication, microsegmentation, and artificial intelligence-driven visibility. These capabilities help simplify regulatory compliance, secure sensitive data, enhance operational resilience, and ensure essential government and public services remain protected.
Infrastructure consolidation
Agencies continue to face challenges in modernising IT while controlling costs and supporting mission outcomes. Previous reliance on varied, isolated tools has led to operational complexity and inefficiencies, creating gaps in security and making resilient service delivery more difficult on a wide scale.
Versa's Unified SASE platform aims to address these challenges through integration of networking and security into one framework. It offers agencies comprehensive visibility, consistent policy application, and automation driven by artificial intelligence. The platform is intended to streamline operations, reduce operational overhead and costs while improving overall security measures, supporting a more mission-oriented focus.
Federal partnerships and deployments
Versa maintains a significant presence in the United States federal market, assisting agencies with infrastructure upgrades, enhanced security, and the development of Zero Trust methodologies. Notably, Versa technology has been selected as a foundational element in the Defence Information Systems Agency's (DISA) Thunderdome Programmeme, the Department of Defence's Zero Trust flagship project. Within this program, Versa provides secure, resilient, and scalable connectivity, including SD-WAN and ZTNA capabilities, across critical defence and mission networks.
The company is also expanding its federal portfolio via partnerships and technical certifications. The new FedRAMP status is added to existing deployment options such as Sovereign SASE, giving federal customers multiple choices in how they leverage Versa's solutions. Close partnership with firms like Carahsoft and continued investment in the sector resulted in significant growth for Versa's Federal Business segment over the last financial year.
According to the company, it remains focused on enabling secure network access, operational cost efficiency and successful fulfilment of agency missions, aligning with United States government modernisation and Zero Trust strategies.
