Matt Butts named Executive Vice President Americas at Gallagher

Yesterday

Matt Butts has been appointed as Executive Vice President – Americas at Gallagher Security.

Matt Butts joins Gallagher Security with more than 25 years of experience in the security and software sectors. His career has included roles at Johnson Controls, Tyco Integrated Security, ADT, and, most recently, as Senior Director of Global Security Sales at Transact Campus.

During his tenure at Transact Campus, Butts was responsible for overseeing global expansion initiatives and strengthening the company's position within key international markets. His background in leading growth strategies and managing high-performing teams is expected to inform his new responsibilities at Gallagher Security.

Regional operations

In his new role, Butts will lead Gallagher's operations throughout North, Central, and South America. He will also be charged with guiding the company's regional strategy as Gallagher continues its focus on expansion within these markets. Butts has expressed enthusiasm about joining the team, noting Gallagher Security's history and organisational momentum as motivating factors in his decision to accept the position.

"Gallagher stands out for its culture and commitment to innovation," says Matt. "I see a company with the capability and solutions to play a much bigger role across the Americas. I strongly believe Gallagher's solutions are the best available, and I'm eager to work alongside the team to help more businesses in our market see that, too. The momentum already created in this region is inspiring, and I can't wait to get started."

Mark Junge, Chief Executive of Gallagher Security, commented on the appointment, emphasising the alignment between Butts' leadership style and the company's objectives for growth and standards in the Americas region.

"Matt's passion for innovation and ability to inspire teams makes him the right leader to accelerate our momentum in the Americas," Junge says. "He brings dynamic energy and genuine passion to the role, and most importantly, his core values are aligned with our mission to protect what matters most. I'm confident Matt will make this role his own in a way that furthers our global vision."

Leadership approach

Butts reiterated that the strength of the Gallagher Security team is central to the company's identity and future progress. He emphasised his leadership philosophy, which focuses on empowering staff and cultivating a supportive organisational culture.

"When you ask security professionals what makes Gallagher stand out, it's always the people," he explains. "My leadership philosophy is built around empowering people and fostering a culture where teams can do their best work. I believe that when people feel trusted, supported, and inspired, they achieve remarkable results. At Gallagher, I see an opportunity to harness that kind of energy to deliver real impact for our end customers and partners."

Butts' appointment comes as Gallagher Security aims to grow its footprint and relationships with businesses and end users throughout the Americas. The company is active in a range of sectors, including government, commercial, and critical infrastructure.

As part of his initial engagements in role, Butts will be joining the Gallagher Security Americas team at the upcoming GSX 2025 event in New Orleans. He is scheduled to meet partners and clients at the event as the company continues to connect with stakeholders in the region.

Gallagher Security's direction under Butts' leadership will focus on reinforcing its presence and delivering security solutions to a wider customer base in the Americas, building on the company's 85-year history in the sector.
